
- Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke tells the Chiago Tribune that at Live Earth London, Madonna attempted to visit his band backstage, only to be confronted by the group’s security officer, who had no idea who the biggest pop star in the world was. The guard put the Material Mom in a headlock, though Okereke says Madonna escaped quite easily. The singer-guitarist adds he could hear Madonna threatening to “kill” security from the hallway.
- Yet another VMA-related calamity: Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds has been hospitalized for the past two days with a “severe head injury” after being jumped following his VMAs performance with Foo Fighters.
- Ludacris and Photobucket.com are teaming up for a “Celebrity Chick” look-alike contest. The competition, in which women are asked to post pictures of themselves trying to impersonate famous female celebrities, will also promote Luda’s newest single, aptly titled “Celebrity Chick.”
- In what could be a potential boy-band supergroup, *NSYNC’s JC Chasez is writing songs for his former rivals the Backstreet Boys’ new album. We still prefer Sureshot.
- Newly caged jailbird Foxy Brown will release a new album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, on November 20th. Brown was recently sentenced to spend a year in Riker’s Island for a whole bunch of broken laws.
