Every Tuesday Single Minded highlights new tracks hitting stores (or the Web) this week. On Fridays, come back for rarities, remixes, mash-ups and more.
Kenny Chesney, Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates [Full Album Stream]
Another collection of warm, charming songs from Mr. Chesney — or, as he’ll be referred to next week, the guy who trounced both 50 and Kanye.
Animal Collective, “Peacebone” [Animal Collective MySpace]
Finally, after weeks of buildup, the long-awaited Kenny Chesney/Animal Collective showdown has arrived!
50 Cent, “Movin on Up” [Rhapsody]
50 recently said that if the clean version of his record sells more copies than the explicit version, Animal Collective will retire.
Kanye West, “Can’t Tell Me Nothin’” [MTV]
Do we need to go over all this again? Kanye. 50. Sales. Fight. “State of Hip-Hop!” Daft Punk. Anime. Etc. Personal guarantee: No matter who wins, Kanye’s going to find something to be upset about.
Iced Earth, “Setian Massacre” [Iced Earth MySpace]
So it’s a little disconcerting to have an album called Framing Armageddon coming out on September 11th, but the force of the riffing compensates. Also, if you move the ‘i’ before the ‘t’ in the title of this song, you’d have a whole lot of unhappy vegetarians.
