Bob Dylan Site Premieres New Video and Lets Fans Make Their Own, Nas Sends Message to Bill O’Reilly at VA Tech Concert, Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie Announce Tour Dates

9/7/07, 10:04 am EST

  • Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Nas and Phil Vassar played to a crowd of over 50,000 at last night’s Concert for Virginia Tech, which was organized to show solidarity at the start of a new school year. During the show, which reports describe as a “chilled-out” affair, Mayer expressed wishes for the world “to be like this all the time,” while Nas — whose sometimes violent lyrics raised concerns — dedicated “Hate Me Now” to “those who don’t understand what Nas is about, like that chump Bill O’Reilly.”
  • Walt Disney Properties forced Live Nation to relocate tonight’s Machine Head performance at the House of Blues in Anaheim (located at Disneyland), citing violent imagery, undesirable fans and inflammatory lyrics. Disney says the company won’t allow heavy metal bands to perform at the venue in the future, though Machine Head says all other tour dates on Disney properties were unaffected.
  • On October 23rd, Carole King will release the DVD Welcome to My Living Room, comprised of clips filmed in Southern California during her 2005-06 Living Room World Tour. “It’s Too Late” and “Where You Lead, I Will Follow” make the cut, as well as footage of King and her bandmates composing an original song onstage each night, and an interview with King discussing the tour’s concept and creative process. Keep reading for the full tracklist.
  • Ozzy Osbourne has announced dates for his upcoming tour with special guest Rob Zombie, which will find the pair playing forty shows starting October 18th in Seattle and ending January 24, 2008 in Cleveland. Keep reading for the full list.

I’d love to see Zombie, but I just went to Jokefest, I mean Ozzfest, in Kansas City 5 weeks ago. Ozzy’s performance was so poor, we left before it was over, and he’s one of the reasons my friends and I went. Time to hang it up, maybe milk another season or two out of MTV.

Leave it to a rapper like Nas to make such a thoughtful, reflective event about him. “Noone understands Nas”….who cares?! Have some respect and be humble for once. This show was not about you…prick.

Steve C., you got it all backwards. Nas wanted to do this show for the students to help after the horrible events on campus in april and he was surrounded by people saying that he shouldn’t be performing due to lyrics about guns and such. he was trying to do something for the greater good, meanwhile douchebags like billo are smashing him on tv saying that he shouldn’t be a part of it. so he shot back and the crowd loved it. they wanted him there, he wanted to be there, and people who have no idea about him or what he wanted to do for this community were crucifying him for wanting to help! good for nas! great show
