Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bo Diddley is in stable condition today after spending three days in Gainesville’s North Florida Regional Medical Center’s intensive care unit. Diddley suffered a heart attack during a check-up on Friday, August 24th, and underwent immediate surgery so doctors could improve blood flow to his heart via a stent. In May, the legendary guitarist suffered a stroke in Omaha and returned to his Florida home to recuperate while enjoying country and western music. Stick with Rolling Stone for developments on Diddley’s condition as more information becomes available, and check out our 2005 profile of the man behind the iconic Bo Diddley Beat here.
