Paul McCartney DVD Set Will Bring Live Performances, Commentary and Videos to Stores in Time for Holiday Shopping

8/24/07, 3:06 pm EST

Just one month after the release of the Bob Dylan restrospective, a three-volume Paul McCartney DVD collection will arrive in stores. The November 13th release will feature solo music videos, live performances and personal commentary from McCartney just in time for the holiday shopping frenzy. Volumes One and Two contain McCartney’s music videos, beginning with “Maybe I’m Amazed.” Other highlights include the Wings promo video for “Band on the Run” as well as hits like “Say Say Say” and “The World Tonight.” Volume Three features live performance footage culled from three classic McCartney shows including Wings’ 1976 world tour, the rocker’s 1991 Unplugged performance and footage from McCartney’s lauded 2004 headlining appearance at Glastonbury. The set is also loaded with bonus features, alternate versions of videos and the 2005 documentary Creating Chaos At Abbey Road.

Where is the full-length “Rockshow,” the best concert film ever?

Stupid fuck….Heather Mills probably stole the only copy.

OMG…fans have been waiting YEARS for “Rockshow” to be released on DVD, and all he’s going to give us is a handful of songs? WTF? No one gives a shit about the music videos…most of them are pretty painful, but the complete, remastered ‘Rockshow’ would be worth the price of this set alone…if fucking McCartney would actually release it.

I will always be a fan of his music, but every single DVD he’s ever put out has been a total clusterfuck, from Richard Lester’s overly-arty “Get Back” film in 1990 to the horribly filmed live footage of the 2002 and 2005 tours that featured more camera time for the audience than Macca and his band.

Even KISS was smart enough to give the fans what they really wanted with the Kissology sets: complete concerts, beautifully restored, not just random excerpts of things that just leave you wanting to see the rest of the show.

Steve, at least the “Red Square” DVD was good. But the rest….OMG is right!
Do we need to see Howard Stern, et al in the crowd just to massage Paul’s ego?
Yikes!

really, he could leave the video for “Say Say Say” off of this. I really don’t think this song reflects well of his legacy, and honestly, Wacko Jacko makes me want to puke!

That’s what the FF button is for, dude.

Take It or leave It!!
Every time an artist brings out some “old stuff” there are always complaints about the finished project. McCartney has thousands of hours material and he decides what to send out “When and How”. I dont like the bits and pieces stuff either, but it is how it will be!!

I bought this DVD, and I am not a HUGE McCartney fan (I am more of a Lennon fan), yet I enjoyed this DVD. The music videos are good (except a few), like Maybe I’m Amazed, Goodnight Tonight, Fine Line, Beautiful Night, and more.

I also understand the 3rd Disc. It is meant to be highlights. He obviously didn’t want to release a 4-6 DVD set, because less people would get access to it (and then I most likely would not have given out the money for that). So he took them and chose his personal bests.

I say calm down, relax, and enjoy.
