• Dr. Dre is taking his old label, the now-defunct Death Row Records, to court in an effort to reclaim the rights to his iconic 1992 album The Chronic. Dre originally sold his 50 percent stake in the label and the rights to the album in 1996 in exchange for royalty payments. Death Row has since failed to pay him any royalties, and with a bankruptcy court arbitrator looking to sell the rights to The Chronic, Dre is eager to take back the album that spawned the hits “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang,” “Dre Day” and “Let Me Ride.”

• Lily Allen wasn’t the only one taking potshots at the V Festival this weekend, as Pink subtly changed the lyrics of “Don’t Let Me Get Me” to include the jab “Tired of being compared to Britney Spears / She’s so crazy.”

• Talib Kweli’s new song “The Nature,” a collaboration with Justin Timberlake, will appear on the bonus disc to Kweli’s latest album Eardrum, out tomorrow.

• The new Farrelly Brothers’ comedy The Heartbreak Kid, starring Ben Stiller, will boast two new Flaming Lips songs and six old David Bowie songs on its soundtrack.

• Rookie comedy series Flight of the Conchords has been spared the same fate as John From Cincinnati: HBO announced they’ve resigned Conchords (and Entourage) for the 2008 season.
