Details Leak of Fall Bruce Springsteen Tour

8/20/07, 9:40 am EST

Bruce Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau told Rolling Stone last week that the tour for Springsteen’s upcoming album Magic “hasn’t been fully decided,” but according to one haphazard Ticketmaster page that went up this weekend, it’s been decided that he’s playing the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota with the E Street Band on November 2nd. The page appeared this weekend and has been since taken down, but we’ve saved the details for posterity: The floor appears to be general admission, just like the Rising tour of 2002 and ‘03. Tickets go on sale next Saturday at 10:00 AM, so expect an announcement of the whole tour sometime next week. He’s keeping the prices relatively low, just $55 to $85. Word is the tour begins in early October, soon after Magic is released. Click after the link for an image of the Ticketmaster page, which we slightly cropped to show the seating chart.

There is and never was a better artist. We appreciate all kinds of music, but Bruce is SO WELCOME.
Peace.

To even bring up the age of Springsteen as an issue is ridiculous. He is still making fantastic, timeless music. The last Stones album was great but still short of their best.Aerosmith were and are utter crap, moronic Stones copyists.Metal-lite.Let’s hope Bruce does another “Seeger sessions” type album-music for grown ups.

Sérgio Vasco | 8/22/2007, 6:58 am EST

Bruce, i’m from portugal. The only time you played here, i was at school and couldn’t afford the ticket for your concert. Your music is a very important thing in my life and it means the world to me. I translate your lyrics to my friends and family and so i hope you’ll come to Portugal this time. Please do it for me. Please.

What are you people debating? Bruce, The Stones, and Aerosmith?
Who has aged better?
Were the Stones or Aerosmith ever good looking? That’s the point..they look like crap. That’s why I love them.
I’m also tired of this age crap…
I saw Chuck Berry play two summers ago, and though he was slower with age… it was one of the coolest shows I have ever seen.
It’s just like anyone else, just because you reach a certain age doesnt mean you quit, and never do anything anymore.
Why don’t you send “Sandmen” after these guys like in the movie Logans Run? There’s BRUCE!!! There’s KEITH!!!! RUNNNNERRRRRR!!!! SFX (blasting lasers)

Jim | 8/20/2007, 11:09 pm EST

If by aged well you mean look like zombies and haven’t released anything decent in close to 2 decades…then yes aerosmith and the stones have aged well.

the klap | 8/20/2007, 10:58 pm EST

let’s call a spade a spade, guys.
i mean, it’s totes obvs how this went down:
“hey, someone grab Evan. Ask him when his dad’s going back on tour. Gus? Gus, go ask Evan when his dad’s going on tour. K, thx, then post it. Yeah, totes say you talked to the manager or producer or whoever. And someone get Max to call his dad and see if Harrison Ford will come to the office. Totes rock n’ roll.”

Bambino | 8/20/2007, 10:08 pm EST

annnnd, uh, Aerosmith hasn’t had a single decent tune since 1975

Bambino | 8/20/2007, 10:05 pm EST

How did thr dead members of the Stones age well??

Ho Hum | 8/20/2007, 10:02 pm EST

Hey, Stan - How many times have you seen Bruce (13 since 1977), the Stones (5 since 1984), or Aerosmith (9 since 1979)? Do you even know how his recent shows compare to the old ones? Both the Stones and Aerosmith still have the old excitement, while Bruce catches his breath at the mike and expounds liberal BS. Hahahaha

Stan | 8/20/2007, 7:20 pm EST

I can’t help but laugh at the guy that said the stones and aerosmith have aged better than Bruce hahahahaha

Rick | 8/20/2007, 7:10 pm EST

The 5 times I’ve seen Bruce have
been the most memorable shows
in the 37 years of my concert going. $85 is the best value in
the concert business. Period.

ehsan | 8/20/2007, 7:09 pm EST

bruce neil bob woody guthrie

ehsan | 8/20/2007, 7:04 pm EST

bruce is my best friend

rebellika | 8/20/2007, 6:46 pm EST

bruce could charge quadrouple that price, still sell out and put on a better show than anyone else and no one would walk out thinking they overpaid.

Ho Hum | 8/20/2007, 6:31 pm EST

Sorry again, but the Stones and Aerosmith have aged soooo much better than Bruce has, at least as far as live performers go. And as far as music goes, The Rising was a nice effort, but the “Boss” really hasn’t done anything musically noteworthy since Tunnel of Love and nothing that truly rocks since The River 25 years ago!!

Beltway Greg | 8/20/2007, 6:00 pm EST

$85.00? This will be the only show I’ll ever attend that I’ll feel as if I owe the boss some cash on the way out. I’ve seen him twice before and I’m still trying to recover. Met him in 87 in Rumson, NJ and met the Big Man at a bar in Jersey also around this same time. Both regular dudes.

Long Live Bruce, Hip-Hop and Open-Mindedness!

jay | 8/20/2007, 3:52 pm EST

according to livenation.com, Bruce will be playing in Oakland, CA on 10/26

Rock | 8/20/2007, 3:38 pm EST

What the hell, arliss? That comment is veering off topic, not to mention degrading to many talented hip-hop acts (Outkast, Kanye, Common, Mos Def) out there today. That said, I love Bruce and I am stoked that he is keeping the ticket prices somewhat cheap (It cost me $212 for mediocre seats to the Stones two years ago!)

Bruce Springsteen | 8/20/2007, 3:15 pm EST

Hello everyone, it’s Bruce. Thank you all for the kind words. I love it when everyone tells me how great I am. Please continue the praise. It helps my ego. And no negative comments, please. I just want you all to continue to kiss my ass the way you all have been doing. I really love it. Because after all, I am a legend, I am one of the greatest entertainers in rock history and I deserve all accolades. Thank you.

Geoff Morton | 8/20/2007, 2:51 pm EST

My god, kids are getting their spelling from rap groups.

It’s “ludicrous”.

I only point it out because I thought you were trying to lump Ludacris in with Bruce and Dylan. And that would indeed be ludicrous.

Raindog | 8/20/2007, 2:24 pm EST

Hey jungleland… you should know putting Bruce and Dylan in the same grouping as Van Halen and Genesis is ludacris!

backstreets? | 8/20/2007, 1:34 pm EST

www.backstreets.com posted this over the weekend, no credit?

Max Weinberg | 8/20/2007, 1:31 pm EST

That fat old bastard is doing hip hop! Five years I don’t play with the guy and he gets into that crap! What’s going on? THERE IS NO HIP HOP IN BRUCES MUSIC, I REPEAT NO HIP HOP IN BRUCE’S MUSIC - I WON’T ALLOW THAT FILTH INTO THE SACRED HAVE OF A BOSS TUNE

Boss Fan2 | 8/20/2007, 1:23 pm EST

The boss fan is definitely right - Bruce has many audible hip-hop influences in his music. He has admitted as much. In fact, he explicitly stated in an interview that in Streets of Philadelphia when he was searching for beat, he took a hip hop drum sound and slowed it down… His talent and influences are far reaching…

boss fan | 8/20/2007, 1:19 pm EST

Bruce actually does have some audible hip hop influence. The drum track in Streets of Philadelphia is definitely a slowed-down hip hop beat. No to mention the drum beats in “The Fuse” and the little-known b-side “Missing.”

CB | 8/20/2007, 12:52 pm EST

This is fabulous news for all Springsteen fans…can’t wait to see Bruce and the band live again!

kyguy | 8/20/2007, 12:35 pm EST

I’m pretty sure Bruce has no audible hip-hop influences in his music, JC. If so, name it.

By the way, it’s okay if he doesn’t.

JC | 8/20/2007, 11:19 am EST

Uh … hey, arliss: I’m a 46 yr-old caucasian male living in Oregon and LOVE the music of Springsteen. There’s no reason to dilute this terrific news with pop-shots at other forms of music. If you were to study Bruce’s canon, you would see influences from many types of music, including hip-hop.

tbt | 8/20/2007, 11:15 am EST

bruce, allman brothers, eric, the real deal!!!

jungleland | 8/20/2007, 10:56 am EST

Better start savin’

Van Halen
Costello / Dylan
Genesis
The Police
Bruce

All happening this fall….

arliss | 8/20/2007, 10:40 am EST

My advice to all the hip-hop and rap fans is go see the Boss. Then you may truly realize how lame it is to listen to that bullshit music. Bruce is the best……period.
