
- Fall Out Boy have yet to announce dates for their fall tour, but bassist Pete Wentz has blogged to let fans know the trek’s art and theme will be based on the children’s book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. The outing, which will also include Gym Class Heroes and Plain White T’s, will be dubbed “The Young Wild Things Tour.” Wentz also (hopefully jokingly) asked fans to petition for “Chocolate Rain” creator Tay Zonday to join as an opener.
- Smashing Pumpkins‘ Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin answered fan questions via YouTube’s Ask a Pumpkin, in which fans submitted videos queries that included questions about Paris Hilton’s appearance in their Zeitgeist artwork and who the band would like to see cover their music.
- The former owner of Russian music site allmp3.com has been acquitted of music piracy after a Russian court ruled the site — which sold popular music at significantly discounted prices — existed within parameters of Russian law.
- A sixty-seven-year-old Elvis Presley fan died last night during a candlelight vigil at Graceland to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the King’s death. Though the woman had health problems, officials say the heat played a role.
- Elvis Costello has recorded a cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” for the upcoming soundtrack to House, which also features tracks from show star Hugh Laurie’s Band From TV, Joe Cocker and Lucinda Williams.
