Prepare yourself now for what promise to be hilarious Rock Reality Show Recaps in the near future: MTV’s new reality show Celebrity Rap Superstar will pair eight celebrities with a superstar MC mentor, including Paul Wall, Warren G. and Tone Loc. Contestants, who will come from the world of film, TV and sports, include the literally colorful Internet gossip mogul Perez Hilton. The stars will spit in freestyle battles, cover (or massacre) hip-hop hits and create their own songs. A promo for the show shows a typically gravel-voiced Tone Loc lecturing Perez on writing something his audience can relate to; Perez agrees and then launches into a brutal non-rhyming Britney Spears blast about the limits of his ability to forgive. We’re cracking our blogging fingers in anticipation of this Dancing With the Stars of hip-hop to begin. Celebrity Rap Superstar premieres on August 30th at 10 PM.
