Speaking of Unplugged, of course Nirvana’s performance was awesome…so was Alice In Chains Unplugged as well as PJ’s. All of those bands showed their diversity in that way. Great stuff which I still listen to. I also mentioned that I saw Chris Cornell recently in concert - what a powerful voice, and much better-sounding in a smaller venue than an arena concert.

Thanks, Bukowski - women appreciate being respected. Things got a little rough earlier for me in the Sheryl blog…I felt like that guy was trying to run me over with a truck. However, I see that RS was decent enough to take down most of the really nasty comments. Regarding Nirvana, as I mentioned before, I have been a fan since they got their first big break on TV. I remember seeing and hearing them for the first time on MTV (15 years ago? I’m losing track of time!). But regretfully, I never did see them in concert.

As I said before, I liked Nirvana before Unplugged, but was completely blown away by that performance. I think it just allowed me to hear a lot of melodies that I was not able hear before, and I got to hear how great Kurt’s wonderfully wounded voice sounded. . . As far as going to war with you, I thought you were of a different sex. That is a big deal to me. When a guy starts a fight with me, I don’t back down; I have to win. I was looking up some research about the real Bukowski (the writer), and he passed away less than 1 month before Kurt Cobain passed away (in 1994). It seems like a somewhat eery coincidence, considering that both of them wrote about “angst”, albeit Bukowski’s writings were much more severe. Are you also a big Nirvana fan?

In other words, “creative”, Bukowski.
Creative types are often unfairly misunderstood because they often draw (or channel perhaps?) from an unknown source (some call it spirituality)…an advanced intuition and awareness not obvious on the surface. If you’re a Foo Fighters & Led Zep fan, check out one of the articles written about Jimmy Page by Dave Grohl - I think it’s posted somewhere here on the RS site. My point is that when I work on designs, it just comes intuitively. The same goes for musicians and writers.

Someone once said: genius and insanity live on opposite sides of the same street. I have no clue as to whether I am a genius or not, but I am maxing out my available gray matter these days. I am just thankful that God is merciful to people like me: the semi-mentally ill. For my part in last night’s “Communication Breakdown” I apologize, for whatever it’s worth. Hope all is well, H.C. Guitar Hero is a blast. I didnt get into it until a couple of weeks ago. I thought that it was stupid and that anyone that played it was a total dork but once I actually tried I was hooked.

Sadly, music is still a business, and apparently the album is recorded but working out all the other details takes time. It’ll probably be leaked a few months before its release (with the band’s blessing) so we can all look forward to that.
