With all due respect, what is with the lack of respect Rolling Stone gives to Blondie, the best box set hands down, is their singles box set.

The emergence from the beginings of punk, to their new wave breakthrough that crushed disco, with a disco song (heart of glass) is rock history. Not too mention the first ever reggae (tide is high) and rap #1 (rapture), none of this well proto type comments, it is what is was, the first of their kind, and then to top it all off the biggest seling single of 1980 (call me).

Tell me who has a better box set, with just 4 of the most influential songs ever recorded, still stands the test of time, sold millions, crossed all music formats…No one can top Blondie, so why isn’t Blondie’s singles box set here?

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Box Set is amazing. Disc 3 alone is one of my favorite Hendrix discs of all time. There’s a killer 13-minute live “Red House” and an extended “Spanish Castle Magic” outtake that sounds completely fresh. This should be in the top ten.

James Brown is definitely one of the all time greats. But he was one of the most greasy, chicken fat lookin’ motherfuckers who ever walked the planet!!!
