  • The theatrical release date for Martin Scorsese’s Rolling Stones concert documentary has been postponed to next April. Shine a Light was supposed to hit screens September 21, but since the Stones will be unavailable for the promotional campaign due to touring, Paramount Classics is delaying the release. Jack White, Buddy Guy and Christina Aguilera are among the stars that cameo onstage.
  • From the minds that brought you PaRappa the Rapper comes an iPod-based game that acclimates itself to your music. If anyone can explain to us how this game actually works, please tell us in the comments.
  • IFC Entertainment has purchased the theatrical and television rights to the doc Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unknown. Look for it in art-house cinemas on November 2.
  • The Cure have yet again pushed back the release date of their new, still-untitled album. April/May 2008 is the new estimated time of arrival.
  • Pete Doherty will follow in the footsteps of fellow Kate Moss-dater Johnny Depp by attempting to laser off tattoos he got in tribute to the model (Depp altered a Winona Ryder tat, but still).

I downloaded musika a couple of days ago, it’s pretty trippy. You pick a song, and then the name scrolls across the bottom. As the song plays, letters appear and you either press the middle button if the letter is in the song name, or next track if it is not. Sounds easy, but the difficulty can be adjusted to add stuff like case sensitivity. Also, as you get to higher levels, the image of the letter gets reallllllllly obscured. There’s also a visualization mode that just shows the letters of the song in cool animations if you don’t feel like playing the game. Well worth the $5.99!
