I think my Chemical Romance is very different than other emo bands. I am not a fan of emo, but I can dig a little My Chemical Romances now and again. I think they just come off as being much more mature than other emo bands, lyrically and musically, and I find that to be more attractive.

Besides that, I thought what he had to say in this interview was really interesting. Being touched by god and destroying evil with flames shooting out of cabinets. Wow. See, that to me is creativity, even in personal beliefs, and I admire that. I admire even more that he is willing to share his personal beliefs with other people.

A japanese scientist snapped the first ever picture of a live giant squid a few years ago and some fisherman caught a giant squid this year, and that’s the first time that’s ever happened.

First off, I would like to point out that I dislike MCR greatly and I am not defending them. Secondly, I would like to say that the sentence that I quote above is one of the most nonsensical, illogical, and blatantly dumb things I have ever read. Let’s start off with the monetary aspect – how much money you have does not define you, and in my opinion it makes you less human and leaves you alienated and detached from a sense of morals. In MY opinion, MCR are a great band, and I respect people who think otherwise, cos I dont expect everyone to be the same. I think that the problem in society [without meaning to sound too melodramatic or cliche] is the lack of respect and tolerance we have towards each other. Difference isnt a problem if we respect it. I know they will retire, probably within ten years or less, and I know that one day they may be considered by some as “has-beens,” seeing as how many people already hate them or consider them sell-outs. One rule that I abide by is to NEVER let someone tell me what/who to like, or that it is cool/uncool/good/bad etc. to appreciate certain kinds of music. MCR ISNT EMO

My Chemical Romance is not an emo band. They are not a death cult. They aren’t out to sell out.

They make fucking great music and they put on a great show. When you watch them onstage, you can see and feel the passion that Gerard, Mikey, Frank, Ray, Bob and James put into it. It a raw energy like you’ve never felt before.

Stereotyping them isn’t cool either. And no matter what they choose to do is a personal choice. I mean, come on. Who of us hasn’t once put on a pair of sunglasses and dreamt of walking into a club. Or belting out a song in front of the mirror, pretending you’re onstage.

And they actually play their instrments too. Which is more than I can say for 90% of music today.

I’m not saying that they’re perfect, but calling the Emo Cult’s and saying that they wrecked the alt-rock scene is wrong.

Hahaha. I think that EVERYONE here is fucking hilarious in all of their petty arguements. Personally, I respect Gerard.

But this article, much like how almost ALL magazines/journalists do, portrays Gerard as… well, kind of a douchebag and not the brightest.

But this man is just about brilliant, and deserves everything that he and his band have achieved for themselves.
