Symbolic Collection, an organization that describes itself as offering “one of the finest selections of rare collectibles, specializing in music and pop culture memorabilia,” is auctioning off a piano that once belonged to Bruce Springsteen on eBay. The acoustic piano was owned by the Boss from 1977-1979, when it resided in the New York City apartment he shared with his then-girlfriend, Lynn Goldsmith. Goldsmith later sold the instrument to Symbolic Collection, which will provide a certificate of authenticity to the purchaser (check out the auction to see a scan of the letter).

The lucky bidder who wins this piano will be nabbing a real piece of rock history: Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Ricky Nelson, Patti Smith and the Pretenders have all also played on it. The auction starts at $10,000 and is restricted to only pre-approved bidders or buyers (so if you’re interested, you’ll need to get yourself qualified).

I’ll buy it if I can get it at the price he paid for it. What do I give a shit if Springsteen or anyone else, for that matter, used it?
