
- Lily Allen’s work visa was revoked on Sunday after she flew to Los Angeles from Australia. After landing, the British singer was questioned and held for five hours over an alleged assault in London that occurred in June. A spokesman reassures that Allen was “not strip searched.”
- Ticketmaster-owned echomusic, the “direct-to-fan Web platform,” has inked a deal with Dolly Parton to create her first official Web site; Kanye West and Faith Hill have already signed agreements with the company.
- Later this afternoon, MTV will announce the nominees for 2007’s Video Music Awards, which will take place in Las Vegas on September 9. The show will be shortened to two hours, and every rebroadcast will be remixed based on fans voting for their favorite segments.
- Madonna’s rep says yesterday’s reports of problems with the singer’s adoption of the Malawian boy she has cared for over the past ten months are “simply not accurate.”
- Timex is releasing an IronMan Sleek iControl watch that can control the six basic playback functions of an iPod.
