Tool is infamous for deception to throw off the media hounds that release information without the bands permission. I wonder if Maynard is just messing with us? He does like to convince people to stop accepting just anything they read or hear after all. I’ll take all this with a grain of salt until its out.

To the comment below, anybody who watches/reads any of his interviews and reads his lyric’s knows that he is clearly a very intelligent person. As for the whole deception thing, I think they are done with that phase, now that everyone expects them to do just that. After Lateralus, there were tons of rumors that all the info released about 10,000 days was falsified, but it turned out to be straightforward the entire time (possibly deception once again?…genius). People seem to think that he and the rest of Tool always have something up their sleeves.

I wonder…if he was offered the RS front cover, would he accept?

Maynard is not a genuis. Yes, he is smart and plays the media as well as fans. That doesn’t make him a genius or remotely that smart….it just makes him a bit smarter than those who fall for it or choose to discuss it…other than that…he is an average Joe that has made alot of money re-doing their same catalog of crap.

I agree with all the others that suspect this might be misleading. Or it could simply be a choice to be simple and silly rather than be uptight and serious for a change.

I don’t really mind the title of the album. I would buy a good album if it said “I hate Danny Dowd” on the cover. I’d probably kill somebody, but good music is what it is.
