  • Prince’s Planet Earth overcame the controversy surrounding its free giveaway and subsequent file-sharing leak to claim the number three spot on the Billboard charts in its U.S. debut week, selling 96,000 copies. The twenty-fifth installment in the NOW! series held onto the top spot for a second straight week, selling 149,000, while the Hairspray soundtrack enjoyed a 41 percent sales increase to rise to number two.
  • Brian Wilson will debut “That Lucky Old Sun (A Narrative),” his new collaboration with Van Dyke Parks, during a six-night run next month at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The concerts will also feature Wilson performing “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” to honor the fortieth anniversary of Wilson’s old art rivals’ classic album.
  • EMI Records, home to artists such as the Beatles and Radiohead, was sold to the Terra Firma equity company for roughly £2.4 billion.

Let me guess on Eminen’s new album he hates his mom, wants to kill his wife/ex-wife, but he loves his daughter. Getting quite old, what a d-bag!

The most “bogus” thing about Eminem is Eminem.

That’s how you can tell if somebody listens to crappy music…if they own a NOW comp.

So sad that 149,000 (and I don’t even know how many bought it in week 1) people are actually PAYING to listen to the worst garbage on the planet. SO many sheep in this country, damn.

Yeah, and Eminem is probably thinking of another way to sell out. How can people ignore the fact that on his first album (Invinsible, and if you didn’t know that, congrats, you’ve been duped also) he actually thanks God for his life and talks about wanting a wife and kid. Yet when he became famous he raps about how shitty his life has been.

Fuck Eminem…biggest sellout since Vanilla Ice’s “Ninja Rap”.
No wait worse, because Eminem actually has talent…if only he used it to make art.

It’s a sad day for popular music when a collection of already past their born on date singles is the #1 record (and only Cd to sell 100,000) and a soundtrack to a movie made into a musical, made BACK into a movie is #2

I think Rock and Roll music has become like Jazz or Blues, it is no longer the music of the masses, just something collectors and music geeks are still into….sniff

I jsut love this man so much. Such a tortured soul; he finally climbed out of it and made Smile. Paul McCartney said that Pet Sounds was The Beatles’ reason why they made Sgt. Pepper’s. Sgt. Pepper’s was a glossy record and in some ways contrived and at times, pretentious. A great album no doubt. Pet Sounds to me, sounded a lot more pure and honest. But Sgt. Pepper’s produced LSD, and the Titanic A Day In The Life…The Phantom

It’s time Eminem changed his name to: BM.(bowel movement)
