  • Led Zeppelin will be putting out three reissues starting with a two-disc best-of collection called Mothership on November 13. A week later, their 1976 concert movie The Song Remains the Same will hit stores as a DVD, as will a repackaged version of its soundtrack bolstered with unreleased material.
  • “Candy Shop,” the alleged first cut of the Madonna/Justin Timberlake/Timbaland super-collaboration, has found its way online.
  • The Police have added a fourth night in Toronto to their much discussed tour, though guitarist Andy Summers says the band hasn’t reunited, but come together “more like a new band.”

thrills of all thrills another ‘best of’…what about a cd w/ alternate takes or something?

Ronald | 7/27/2007, 10:33 am EST

The Madonna track is interesting but I thnk ROLLLING STONE should be careful on reporting new tracks from illegal sources or leaks. The magazine should not promote piracy or illegal downloading. I can’t wait for the new album!

Too bad I already have all those Zeppelin songs, but I gotta admit rumors of a 2008 tour are exciting. Probably false, but still exciting.

Adam | 7/27/2007, 10:51 am EST

Hell ya Fugazi kicks ass!!

qwertyuio | 7/27/2007, 11:23 am EST

well, the band ‘the police’ sucks like that old 80s band, ‘the police’. both polices suck.

I have a feeling that Zep may reunite in 2008!
Remember next year marks their 40th aniversary…
they may just be pulling a Sting by saying we will never reunite and wait for the bands big aniversary and them “BLAMO” promotion, money, and hype up the ass!

That schmuck had that planned!

Although i could give 2 shits about the Police, i’d love to see Zep reunite with Jason on drums!:)

Big Nate | 7/27/2007, 12:05 pm EST

How many Zeppelin “best ofs” do we need? Please people, stop pretending you care about the Police.

mozboy | 7/27/2007, 12:28 pm EST

the tracks on the Zep DVD from that same show are better than The Song Reamins, so hopefully Pagey has fixed that.

Another best of…CASH IN!!!

What about a tour w/ Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd in 2008!!! Man I could die the next day after that.

booyakasha | 7/27/2007, 12:32 pm EST

I wonder if Sting will beat down on Chilean soccer players like our real police

Multi-Untalented | 7/27/2007, 12:40 pm EST

A new Madonna track? Yawn.

With Justin Timberlake? Double yawn.

With Timbaland? Triple yawn.

I’ll be cutting my toenails instead.

Thundercrotch | 7/27/2007, 1:13 pm EST

Maybe Zep and the The Police could “combine” their line-ups? They could call it Cop Blimp. I’d go see anything with a name like that!!

Jake Burns | 7/27/2007, 1:19 pm EST

No Zep, please.

Fugazi-right on man | 7/27/2007, 1:29 pm EST

I think Page and Plant had it right the first time they re-united. Play the old songs, but don’t call youself Led Zep. LZ without Bonham is like the Who without Moon.

If God Rocked | 7/27/2007, 3:19 pm EST

A tour with led zep and pink floyd would be the most awesome thing ever. but it ain’t gonna happen.

James | 7/27/2007, 3:54 pm EST

Madonna steals African babies to stay trendy.

Stuporfly | 7/27/2007, 4:06 pm EST

For a “new band”, the Police sure are charging an awful lot of money to see them.

blah | 7/27/2007, 5:08 pm EST

posting images of zep and then announcing they are just putting out stuff I already have is the worst let down ever. Sad times…

Some fan | 7/27/2007, 6:26 pm EST

What the hell, The Song Remains the Same already is a feckin DVD and there already are like three or more “best of” CDs. Why even report this, Zep released the entire Knebworth concert on DVD this year now that’s new and I didn’t hear a word about it

JD | 7/27/2007, 11:27 pm EST

What the world needs, yet another Led Zep compilation. Why not deluxe editions of their studio albums loaded with rarities, alternate takes and unreleased songs.

UKNOWN | 7/29/2007, 9:10 pm EST

WAZZZUP

Bazamataz | 8/7/2007, 3:46 pm EST

Ronald, what the hell? Another mediocre yawn-fest for all the fashionistas to pretend to like for about 10 minutes.

Maiden England forever!
Heavy Metal is the law.

Jean | 8/22/2007, 9:52 pm EST

Page, Plant and Jones have been right not to tour under the banner of Led Zeppelin. I respected them for that. Bonham was too central to the overall sound of the band for a reunion tour to make any sense. I hope Plant is able to put the brakes on this plan- if indeed there is one.

Patrick | 8/27/2007, 6:23 am EST

Zeppelin reunion 2008 would be brilliant one of the greatest bands ever
