Marc Jacobs’ ad campaigns routinely feature the fashion guru’s fabulous famous friends. Everyone from Winona Ryder to Meg White to Dakota Fanning has appeared looking demure but glamorous in ads for the designer’s clothes, and this fall’s print ads spotlight a new star: Michael Stipe, who sports electric-blue baggy pants and lots of chest hair. If the nearly nude R.E.M. frontman (or his gaudy shower curtain) isn’t doing it for you, check out the uncomfortably smoldering shot of John Mayer that passes for the new Gap ad.
