The initial lineup for this year’s Vegoose festival includes Rage Against the Machine, Daft Punk, the Shins, Queens of the Stone Age and Muse. Additional headliners Iggy & the Stooges will continue the hot trend of playing albums in their entirety with a performance of 1970’s landmark Fun House. Vegoose, which takes place October 26-28 in Las Vegas, will continue to feature outdoor festival-size shows during the day and more intimate indoor shows starring unexpected artist pairings at night. The festival will also draw on the local Vegas lifestyle by bringing back its Impersonators Cafe and a Wedding Chapel (though the vows are just for kicks). Tickets for the day performances are available starting July 28, and the night shows go on sale August 11.

FUCK VEGOOSE THIS SHIT SUCKS

James | 7/24/2007, 12:05 pm EST

Isn’t this essentially Rage headlining and a bunch of bands that might, at best, fill a 2500 seat theater?

thepope | 7/24/2007, 12:22 pm EST

sts9 sells out red rocks amphitheatre in colorado. worth more tickets than alot of people think. vegas baby!

cota | 7/24/2007, 12:28 pm EST

hey James,

The Stooges freak’n ROCK!!! Yes, very true that thay may not fill a large venue, but don’t get that confused with a bad show. Iggy is one of the best of all time,,,,if you have never seen him live, do it now!! Even at 60 he and the Stooges put most of todays “latest thing” bands to shame!! One of the few true living rock and roll legends!! And speaking of Rage, although I love these guys as well, chances are slim that they would even be as popular without The Stooges paveing the way a long, long time ago!!

tyler | 7/24/2007, 12:34 pm EST

who cares !!

jimmypearl | 7/24/2007, 12:54 pm EST

Rage huh?

Desperate attempt to stay in the lime light!

I thought they wern’t going to reunite? or was that b4 Chris Cornell took off on their ass!

Richard Legner | 7/24/2007, 1:15 pm EST

nice line-up. I really dig the idea of a band playing a whole album live. The album as art is not dead!

j | 7/24/2007, 2:02 pm EST

um ,decent lineup, but definitely not worth $150. and the night concerts? Man, check out their site and just count how many ways they’ve invented to take your money. Check out the VIP, what tool would pay for that nonsense? Only in Vegas. I wish I didn’t live there.

socrates | 7/24/2007, 3:23 pm EST

kind of weak lineup….. Voodoo Fest (Same days) blows this out of the water.

Voodoo has Kings of Leon, Wilco, Smashing Pumpkins, and a coule of other decent names, plus oh yeah, they have Rage too.

Sugarhigh | 7/24/2007, 4:00 pm EST

Rage=Yawn……
Daft Punk FTW!

Jim | 7/24/2007, 4:22 pm EST

Clearly you have not heard “Funhouse” before..

Courtney 9/11 | 7/24/2007, 5:04 pm EST

First impressions…They ARE a BITCH–RB

GeneSnake7s | 7/24/2007, 5:08 pm EST

Gene Pushes Courtney out front door…DON’T EVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN, YOU EVIL WITCH…SHANNON! What’s the matter, Gene? Courtney punched Nick in the face? Why? He said ‘Hello’!–RB

brian | 7/24/2007, 6:05 pm EST

QOTSA, Iggy, Muse, Daft Punk…Christ…good music will prevail!

Rusty T. | 7/24/2007, 7:31 pm EST

Wow. Vegoose will prob get a whole 10,000 in attendance this year at the festival. Far cry from DMB & Friends & Widespread headlining as in 2005. Who are they going to book next? Hole?

Robot Rocker | 7/24/2007, 8:00 pm EST

Two words. Daft. Punk. They will blow all of those hippies right back to the 60s.

Other than that, the Stooges doing “Fun House” will be beyond the beyond.

End of transmission.

$R$A$T$M$ | 7/24/2007, 8:14 pm EST

wow. these guys are so full of sh*t. playing a festival in las vegas with a website that has slot machines on it. yeah f*ck commerce! to hell with corporations and america! ha. vegas sums up everything these guys should be against. i guess they believe in america enough to take the money with the country’s name on it. in god we trust! way to go zach!

Steven | 7/25/2007, 2:53 am EST

where is this festival happening?

Anonymous | 7/25/2007, 3:10 pm EST

Ever notice how Rage “borrowed” the main riff from TV Eye? They know class when they hear it.

iheartsex | 7/25/2007, 4:05 pm EST

yea right, rage+daft punk+queens? im there… all you other saps can have fun trick or treating

ben | 7/25/2007, 6:28 pm EST

vegoose used to have good music, now it blows fucking cock other than the night shows.. WHERE ARE THE JAM BANDS

MFINGNINJA | 7/26/2007, 10:51 am EST

ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT DMB BAND IS BETTER THAN RAGE HAS NEVER BEEN TO A CONCERT BEFORE, AND YES I HAVE SEEN BOTH LIVE, THE SHOW I SAW “DAVE” WAS TOO DRUNK TO EVEN TALK, LET ALONE SING…

MFINGNINJA | 7/26/2007, 10:54 am EST

VOODOO FEST IS ALSO THREE DAYS LONG, OF COURSE THERE IS MORE BANDS,PEOPLE ARE SO DUMB…

eek | 7/26/2007, 12:49 pm EST

150 bucks!?
I saw police, tool, kings of leon, hold steady, wilco, the roots, black keys, widespread, the national etc etc etc etc for 125.

Bonnaroo ftw, and will always.

Rains | 7/26/2007, 4:38 pm EST

One Day Ticket + Daft Punk.
Too bad though, it’s much better in an arena…

crotchfunk | 7/27/2007, 8:40 am EST

no jam bands, why is there this indie backlash against the jamband scene. is there some movement going on to please the “serious” indie new york snob people, because it seems that what everyone caters to now.

Music for the masses | 7/27/2007, 1:55 pm EST

Daft Punk itself will sell out this festival. They are just the best concert experience ever. Just read DP concert reviews all over the net from LA to Japan. I would bet my money Vegas style that the 18,000 LA people who saw them this past weekend will be there.

Blowdy | 7/30/2007, 4:49 am EST

What do you mean where are the jam bands?!? Have you guys even heard STS9??? I saw them last time they played in hollywood and it was one of the top shows i have EVER seen! I would pay any amount of money to see STS9 and Daft play.

Brock Landers | 7/30/2007, 4:56 am EST

Nothing against jam bands, but band like that have played the festival and Vegas before. Take it from someone who lives here so who gives a fuck about the jam bands. This is much better than last ear. For the love of god.

tommmmmmmyy | 7/30/2007, 12:33 pm EST

all im saying is I recently saw rage at rock the bells on the 28th…. one of the most amazing shows ever… I saw the shins front row at the e factory.. fucking amazing… and daft punk as well.. fuck its worth the money

Tod Lautenberg | 8/2/2007, 6:42 am EST

The Indie Rock fans agin destroy a festival with Vegoose. They are too unoriginal to come up with their own festival so they glom off of ours. These weak bands with predictable punk rock sell out crap.

Indie rock fans brains are too simple to handle anything that isn’t predefined as a specifc genre. It’s not tthat Daft Punk and Rage aren’t good. It’s just that there already was a Coachella this year, and JamBands defined this Party. Indie fans want to take any party we throw and force Indie rock down our throat. They never do it the first year though. WHo would have gone to Bonaroo with this crap. If you like fighting drinking and cocaine you’ll love Vegoose this year. F them we’ll build a new festival and I’m sure the Indie Rock snobs will leech off that too and pretend it’s all about them. I’m from New York by the way and there are just as many snobs in Reneck land as here.

DAVE MATTHEWS IS NOT A JAMBAND! F OFF WITH THAT WEAK SH-T. He doesn’t even have a lead guitar player or lead instrument of any kind. Dave MAtthews was last years Rage against Machine. The Jamfests book him because they want to pad the ticket sales. Everyone BBq’s during the set and let’s the frat boys have their day until the late nigh Disco Biscuit set.

Hellow CS! | 8/11/2007, 10:43 pm EST

I would like to go to this, even though I’ve seen the Robots @ Coachella @ L.A. Sports Arena. After more than 10 years who would not like to get a Triple Dose of Digital Love.

here are some photos

daftloco | 10/15/2007, 10:01 pm EST

simply put, daft punk is THE best act touring right now. if you haven’t seen them yet, then you have no right to say anything about the worthiness of vegoose.

Vegoose Cancelled-T Lautenberg | 7/9/2008, 3:06 pm EST

Vegoose has officially been cancelled because no one showed up. Too bad. I gues they should of listened to me. Well I told you so.
