shela | 7/25/2007, 4:07 am EST

I’ve narrowed it down to either:

Oprah
Lyle Lovett
or Don Immus

But my first instinct was Bob Dylan.

It isn’t gray hair it is blonde…and I think it’s Steven Adlers hair and the guy next to him is Izzy.

VAN HALEN REUNION !!!

Golden Girl | 7/24/2007, 1:29 pm EST

Bea Arthur (Maude)

Anonymous | 7/24/2007, 1:29 pm EST

Van Halen is a bad guess. They’re too fickle to put on the cover. Who knows if they’ll ever reunite? They change their story every two weeks.

Joe | 7/24/2007, 1:28 pm EST

That’s Edge’s new hair implants instead of his trademark wool stevedore’s cap. It’s U2, bitches!!!!

Anonymous | 7/24/2007, 1:26 pm EST

Velvet Revolver isn’t a bad guess, but no band member has grey hair like that.

And people need to get off the Pumpkins. I like them just as much as the next person, but it’s too late to put them on the cover. Their album has already been released. RS is only gonna cover a story that’s newsworthy.

The best guess I’ve seen so far is a cover with all the actors from the new Dylan biopic being released this fall.

Oh, and yeah, I’d be nice if Billy would finally grow his hair back… I’m not too happy about the new pop-metal album, but I can live with it… I still love the SP… and yeah, they’ll be on the next cover…

I’m guessing whomever’s the lame-ass flavor of the month will grace the RS cover.

marti | 7/24/2007, 12:42 pm EST

It’s not Dylan. I just saw him in concert and his hair’s not THAT gray. It could be Smashing Pumpkins… Look above the Rolling Stone Logo. Could be Velvet Revolver too, they’re so hot right now.
Scot Weiland is the hottest MoFo out there!!!

Banjo | 7/24/2007, 12:38 pm EST

but i’d rather have Phil on the cover than velvet revolver or guns n roses…i hate them both so much

Banjo | 7/24/2007, 12:36 pm EST

it looks like Phil Spector…but i think that’s a weird choice for a cover right now. new headline “RS glorifies convicted murderer”

Michele | 7/24/2007, 12:29 pm EST

My guess is Nickleback, but then again, heard they did a photo shot here in Mpls yesterday before the concert.

Kyle | 7/24/2007, 12:29 pm EST

crowded house

coachdig3 | 7/24/2007, 12:27 pm EST

look closer, that black thing on the right side is a hat with skulls on it. my guess it belongs to slash, so it’s either velvet revolver or a GNR throwback. and it’s not the pumpkins; when is the cover story ever listed at the top like that? it’s usually down at the bottom or middle somewhere…

yoyoooo | 7/24/2007, 12:17 pm EST

smashing pumpkins? it says smashing above the STO

Dean | 7/24/2007, 11:59 am EST

I’ve been reading all of these, and Velvet Revolver did just come out with a new album, so it could very well be the mentioned members of that band.

I’m going to go with Velvet Revolver.

That hair belongs to the corpse of Jerry Garcia. They dug him up and propped his corpse on a chair for the photo.

Me | 7/24/2007, 11:47 am EST

Also why does Rolling Stone keep using the cliche white background with red lettering. Even though it looks cool at least 90% of the covers each year have this and its now become expected and dull.

Nello | 7/24/2007, 11:47 am EST

its Bea Arthur, I love that bitch!!

Me | 7/24/2007, 11:44 am EST

It seems like Steven Adler and Slash and after all this discussion of the 20th anniversary of AFD this seems highly likely…though i could be wrong

it’s the traveling wilburys.

Thought provoking idea. I find myself going around in circles. Is it Phil Specter? Is it the Smashing Pumpikins? But the scull in the right corner would suggest a doo rag or hat. Still can’t quite put my finger on it. My guess… Velvet Revolver.

That’s the pubic hair of Britney Spears in the 1st ever uncensored Rolling Stone cover page. You see, Britney is standing on her head upside down with her legs in the air (which you don’t see yet) and her snatch exposed. It’s quite obvious by the picture that Britney doesn’t like to shave her private parts.
