he was just using nas as an example for the dichotomy between trying to relate to your audience and trying to elevate your audience – both are legitimate artistic endeavors, and except in rare circumstances, emphasizing one is going to lead to sacrifices in the other – why be so hard on the guy for a purely descriptive statement?
