Good call on ‘Calling the World’!!

No band can put smiles on faces like Rooney can.

Kyle | 7/17/2007, 1:18 pm EST

Rooney Rocks!!! Good review!

killyridols | 7/17/2007, 1:26 pm EST

What’s up with that album cover, do they think they’re The Stooges or something?

christine | 7/17/2007, 1:53 pm EST

Jeremy | 7/17/2007, 2:08 pm EST

KL | 7/17/2007, 2:14 pm EST

the cribs rock! i recommend anyone to take a listen to the album, and dont go on what that geek joe has to say! he’s just a typical American who can’t understand decent British post punk music! come on he really liked that terrible cheese band called Rooney! enough said.

sy | 7/17/2007, 2:34 pm EST

who and who? slow music day i guess….

BC | 7/17/2007, 2:49 pm EST

Go and watch the cribs live, they rock!!!! Also Rooney seem like a bad version of the kooks, and that’s saying something!

Joe | 7/17/2007, 2:57 pm EST

PLEASE stop with the video reviews and go back to actually writing them…you know, like a magazine

For the love of all things good and holy, stop this video review crap!

Rooney blows.

C & R | 7/17/2007, 5:29 pm EST

I like these video reviews of new music, but they shouldn’t take the place of the ACTUAL reviews.

Natalie Z | 7/17/2007, 5:33 pm EST

Nice job, Lizzy.

Why aren’t you updating the printed reviews??

It’s been five weeks!

steve | 7/17/2007, 6:04 pm EST

this whole video review thing is really lame.

huh? | 7/17/2007, 6:09 pm EST

didn’t the Cribs album come out like three weeks ago? You guys have had a written review since then, and I’ve had the album since then. Why do you consider it new today?

I mean, I like the album a lot and it’s nice to see it getting press, but it is not new. Come on RS…get your act together.

Also, these video reviews are terrible. Look at all these people posting on here who don’t like them. Just do both since you seem stuck on them.

Michelle | 7/17/2007, 6:45 pm EST

Well, I happen to love the video reviews. It gives the Rolling Stone readers a sense of variety. Besides, It’s their decisions, leave them alone please!

nathan | 7/17/2007, 6:53 pm EST

Goodman’s hot, I mean yowza!!

seattle | 7/17/2007, 6:54 pm EST

Please write reviews!

Alot big name acts have new records, but you wouldn’t know it looking at this site.

nathan | 7/17/2007, 7:24 pm EST

Rooney’s not so good, but then save RHCP, neither is the California rock scene.

judd vanderslice | 7/17/2007, 7:25 pm EST

Liz Goodman looks a lot like Devinn Lane, which is of course, a great thing.

Brooke | 7/17/2007, 8:52 pm EST

I don’t know what some of you guys are talking about. Rooney rocks! They put on a seriously amazing live show and are all really nice guys. Plus Taylor Locke is one of the most amazing current guitar players.

Horny Toad | 7/18/2007, 2:29 am EST

I don’t like this Video review crap! Please bring back the written reviews.

The Greek | 7/18/2007, 6:59 am EST

Horny Toad is right. We need the written reviews to come back. After all, we can’t watch a video in the office!

Steal the Moon | 7/18/2007, 2:38 pm EST

Maybe they could make it an option, so that someone could view the written reviews as well… I personally don’t care for the video reviews either and I should at least have the option to view the text

Rooney = cool at first but bubble gum music through and through

rockbutterly | 7/18/2007, 3:06 pm EST

Nate, Love the Chili’s too. Why did they let that douche David Duchovny use the Name CALIFORNICATION? That motherfucker! I’m gonna rip him apart! Calm down, Hank. Pour yourself a glass of wine and sit down at the old typer.

neil | 7/18/2007, 11:20 pm EST

Rooney and the cribs are both worth buying.

Michelle | 7/19/2007, 3:41 am EST

I’d download The Cribs album and I’d skip Rooney.

billy cioffi | 7/19/2007, 11:45 am EST

I agree with your review but “The Cribs” is on face another of those pretentious troubled English wanker records (my age betrays the Strokes were, unfortunately, an idea that was better in conception than its consequence. It’s good to have all the right moves but you have to be going somewhere. Rooney, on the other hand, is a POP record it has no pretensions other than it is a “rate a record” winner it got a good melody, a hook, a beat and you can dance to it- Brill Building- completely disposable and depending on your affections, emotions and epiphanies indispensable particularly in summertime. (I did hate the video-bad MTV 80’s dreck every thing you hated about videos without the titillation)

Gary | 7/19/2007, 5:31 pm EST

Let us keep seeing Elizabeth Goodman. We’ll buy whatever she recommends.
