This Monday, Rolling Stone ventured to a thirty-acre estate in Clarkston, MI, to spend some quality time with Kid Rock. The badass born Robert Ritchie gave us the grand tour of his house and studio — giant go-cart track, swimming pool, signed Johnny Cash photo and the spot where James Hetfield wrecked one of Rock’s motorcycles — and played us his new disc, Rock and Roll Jesus. The album is hot shit: a balls-out rock record with strip-club-ready bangers like “So Hot,” giant AC/DC-style guitars, better singing than ever and only one rap song.
According to Rock, Jesus has passed the crucial hot-chick test. “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done,” he says, “I’ve had friends over when we’re playing back. Sometimes there’ll be girls running around naked and we’re like, ‘Fuck, turn the music on!’ The feedback about the album has been very positive.” Check out the next issue of Rolling Stone for the full details. Until then, check out a photo of the pimped-out front gate to the Rock compound, after the jump.
