If you’d like to replicate the “revolutionary music of ‘The Clash,” as Elderly Instruments puts it, you can purchase this replica of Joe Strummer’s busted-up old Fender Telecaster for a fairly reasonable $900. Stickers and other accompanying goodies were designed by Shepard Fairey of Obey Giant fame.

Too funny! CBS engineer Simon Humphrey (1st Clash LP) and “Rope” producer Sandy Pearlman must be rolling on the floor, laughing! They hated the sound Joe got from the original…

Fender did make it. OBEY just helped do the stencils, stickers, and artwork.

You made a mistake. The guitar on the right is NOT the Fairey Tele. This replica is detailed at www.strummerguitar.com. the fender?Fairey version is on the left side of the picture.

This looks like a collecters item that is cheap enough to play at a club! And its alot less that the 25,000 for the VanHalen replica. I oonly wish Fender made it and that I had $900.
