Anyone who caught Morrissey on Late Show With David Letterman June 29 saw arguably the world’s most famous vegetarian get a little uncomfortable as the show’s host made a few too many references to spare ribs — and even munched on a plate of them. The Moz later referred to the show as “The David Butterball Show,” and now some easily offended fans have launched a petition that demands a boycott of the Show and an apology from Letterman.
Silliest fan-started petition ever? Maybe — but it’s got some stiff competition from these:
- Beyoncé’s fans demanded that the video for “Déjà Vu” be re-shot because they felt it made the pop star seem too slutty.
- Fans petitioned California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris Hilton because she brings “beauty and excitement to our otherwise mundane lives.”
- Michael Jackson’s fans launched a petition to cut the characterization of the pop star as a freak/child molester in Scary Movie.
- This guy is trying to get Nike to remake the McFly sneaker worn by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future Part II. Okay, actually that would be awesome.
