  • Destiny hasn’t been kind to Beyoncé this past week. First, Rev. Al Sharpton made a big deal about TMZ.com’s use of the word “roboho” to describe her BET Awards performance outfit, bringing more notoriety to a fashion mistake that should’ve lasted one night. Then, two fans sitting front row at the singer’s St. Louis concert were injured by wild pyrotechnics. Beyoncé did visit the fans in the hospital after the performance.
  • It turns out the only people who thought Metallica’s James Hetfield was a potential shoe bomber were writers at London’s The Times, as a Hetfield rep says all stories about the singer-guitarist’s run-in with U.K airport security are “not true.” Meanwhile, “The Other New Song” by Metallica has been posted online.
  • Alicia Keys, fresh off her triumphant “Gimme Shelter” duet with Keith Urban at Live Earth, has announced her new album will come out in October.
  • The fate of the merger between satellite radio giants XM and Sirius is under discussion today in front of the FCC.

With regards to the beyonce Roboho Comment

As an African American male, I find Beyonce’s behavior to be unlady like. Former BET CEO Bob Johnson referenced the ” Lap dance” that she gave during last years award ceremony. She gyrates and grinds half naked on her videos. She has no respect for herself. Re her being called a “Ho” This is not a kind word nor one that a gentlemen would use however if the shoe fits she must wear it. ..No one calls Alicia Keys or Indiarie a HO. None calls Amerie a HO. Beyonce is a beatiful and very talented woman and when she starts to perform in more decent manner, people will treat her with more respect.I am a former fan …now I forbid my children to watch/or listen to her. Absolutely nothing racist about this. Young African American Women deserve better role models… This is were I would like to see Al Sharpton be more active. tell Beyonce to put her clothes on, stop grinding and strip teasing and use her very beautiful voice.
