Could someone explain the fight scene between Sirius and HP vs. Lucius and a deatheater. How were they protecting themselves from the others spells; cause it didn’t look like they were dodging or using the shield charm.

Can someone try and explain the fight scene to me…When it was Sirius and HP verus Lucias and a deatheater how were they protecting themselves from the others curses. It didn’t look like they were dodging and it didn’t look like they were using shield charms, so what the hell was going on.

I agree that is was the best HP film. As someone who grew up with the books, I was getting so sick of important plot and character developement being sacrificed for boring chase sequences and Quidditch matches. This is the first one that wasn'’t a dissapointment. Yes they changed things and left stuff out, as did the other, but for the first time I agree with they’re choices. Plus, the action sequences kicked ass.

Saw it last night. A total let down. They spent way too much time developing the characters and the “coming war” plot-line. By the time the film reached it’s climax, I was expecting a fantastic, explosive finale. Sadly, the film went out with a whimper. The fight scene was confusing and abbreviated, major characters died quickly with little to no drama, and the final showdown saw our hero lying on his ass the whole time.

Absolute let down.

Oh, and don’t tell me I had to read the book. The book obviously ends the same way and I’d be just as disappointed.

I dunno. The only thing that caught my eye in the movie was Severus Snape, Serius Black, and Lucius Malfoy–because they were hot. The movie itself, as far as story and all that–nah. It was just eye candy this time round.

peter travers is a moron…. i’ve read all the books and seen all of the movies, and just went to see this one last night. yes, it was edgy, and it was dark. but that’s because you were busy bumping into edges fumbling around in the dark. it seemed, literally, as if they went: “this part is important, important part, important part, action sequence, important part, i like this” and slapped it all together. there was no development of any side characters. i’m of the opinion that a great movie based off a book is a movie that you can see and understand fully without reading the book… and by either seeing the movie or reading the book you get the exact same story. not the case here. if you didn’t read the book, you’re screwed. it’s going to be boring as hell because they don’t accentuate anything that’s important. they just through it at you and move on. when [blank] dies in the book, it’s severe utter depression for harry. you want to cry! in the movie it’s like… “oh, he’s dead. that’s sad. moving on.”

peter travers… come on, man. it’s great because harry is experiencing the real world? come down off your philosophical high horse. it’s supposed to be an action packed, emotional, dramatic roller coaster. not one blandly delivered thought-provoking scene after another. i’ll watch a bbc documentary for that. harry potter’s life is not a documentary. it’s a drama. and the director failed at creating drama by making movie stutter through one scene after another.

also… stick to the contents of the book, please, directors.

I always knew I was going to see this movie. I’m a big fan of the books and of the movies (not so much the first two). And Peter Travers is basically the only movie critic I give a damn about what they have to say. So when he so highly praised the movie, it made me want to see it that much more. I’ll be there at midnight!
