I actually did look into the Live Earth website, and yes, I even watched a bit of the shows, hoping to catch some of the Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, and Linkin Park (all great bands by the way), and yes, I got the point. Watching rock stars play a couple of songs totally made me so much more aware of Global Warming (that’s sarcasm by the way). What a bunch of crap! If you read my post carefully, that is if you can read at all, I support and back those who want to protect the environment, even with reasonable government protection laws and regulations, HOWEVER, I question the true motives of one man, Al Gore. That’s the issue I am raising. I don’t care if Hollywood or rock stars want to recycle and drive hybrids. But I’m certainly not going to do anything just because a celebrity said so. And if you do change just because some celebrity or politician tells you to, then you are the ignorant one my friend. When you decide to stop being a hippie and actually grow into adulthood, let me know. Have a nice day on your crusade against Global Warming.

You know, you just kinda missed it. The whole point. You are obviously very young, or just plain ignorant. You notice that I didn’t say “dumb”, I stopped using that word about 35 years ago. Did you visit the web site, or were you too involved with video games? Fortunately for the Earth, most of us adult kind of people get our info from more than one source. That just makes sense to assholes like us. We know that global warming is not a political issue. It’s just a problem that us assholes will do our best to change. The Iraq war IS a political issue, and while most of us oppose the war, WE SUPPORT AND APPRECIATE the 18 year old grown ups who are willing to put their lives on the line daily for our freedom. I am glad to see people are starting to wise up a little to this global warming thing. whether it is real or not is debateable, but the source is just so transparent. Al Gore comes from no where to tell us something we already know about, and gets hollywood’s backing. i have no idea why this douche gets any credit for this. and yes, he uses scare tactics and arrogant rhetoric to make his point. To quote southpark, al gore “is a huge loser that needs attention.”

I’ll always be the first to admit that I may not have infinite wisdom, but I do have common sense, and throwing a huge 24 hour concert event isn’t going to solve any crisis, whether it’s for Global Warming or for AIDS and starvation in Africa. As far as what advice I may give to anyone, well, simply don’t start looking for a moral code or compass from ANY politician, especially one who claims to have invented the internet! And can we all be honest? Yes, protecting the environment is good, however, can we trust the words of a politician? Am I the only one who feels that Gore is doing this more for some sort of gain (financial, potentially political)? I just can’t trust any of these guys. But the best advice is to make up your own mind.
