Helllllooooo people, Disney channel creation! Hannah Montana is not a real girl and has no real talent! I am glad that Much Music doesn’t play crap like that. Hannah is targeted towards ten year old girls that still consider pop fluff to be music. She only got the part because her dad is Billy Ray Cyrus, the one-hit wonder. She can’t act or sing. Now, onto the Avril thing. I have heard both songs and the only similarity is the “Hey hey you you” part and the beat. There are how many possible beats in the world and how many artists and how many songs? Also, that’s like Hilary Duff suing Rihanna because they both have a song that has the word “you”. And another thing: “Girlfriend” was released MONTHS before the Rubinoos accused her. Sereiously, it was everywhere. Wouldn’t it make more sense to sue her earlier and get the cash faster? Why accuse her now that “Girlfriend” is on its way to “forgotten first single” land” with the release of ‘when You’re Gone”? It just doesn’t fit.

As for Hannah Montana, that girl outsold Kelly Clarkson by 35,000 copies this year and i always think that Hannah might just know what she’s doing! But Spice Girls are alot more than just a pretty face when so many fans love them!

If there are similarities between Avril & the Rubinoos, it’s most likely just a coincidence. The Rubinoos didn’t exactly set the world on fire with any of their music, despite the hype they recieved at the time, as I recall - it’s possible the Rubinoos are still licking their wounds from the aftermath of no major success. The Rubinnos were more along the lines of “next up thing that never happened” and they soon faded from view.***B/t/w - did rock band America ever sue Janet Jackson’s producers for their note for note rip off of the America hit[1975]”Daisy Jane” which came in the Janet version of “Let’s Wait A While”? Am I the only one that noticed it on that one, or did Janet’s musical entourage acknowledge a ’sampling’?

I heard a sample from Amazon, and “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” sounds too similar to be coincidence. It’s got that “Hey, hey, you, you” part.

Well, no real surprise here, so many times in the past we have seen how people will react when an artist/musician becomes very successful. It’s is an ugly part of our human nature and in the music world professional jealousy or envy goes way back, Salieri had it for Mozart, etc. Great success breeds jealousy, envy and contempt. It is sad to see jealousy rearing its ugly green head when a fellow artist in a weak moment of character lashes out against those who are more successful than they are. Acts of jealousy to discredit, slander or profit from discrediting their fellow artist, rarely benefits the accuser and often backfires making themselves looking pretty awful.

With successes like these listed below its no wonder there is jealousy:
