DJ Mark Ronson (who has recently worked with Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen) will remix Bob Dylan’s “Most Likely You’ll Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine)” for the monster Dylan greatest-hits package coming out later this year. “It’s the first time Bob Dylan’s given anyone the original multi-tracks of his songs to do remixes,” the producer explained. “I’m a huge Dylan fan, so it’s a great honor, and the fact that he heard it and approved it, as you imagine he’d be quite picky.”

In response to wareallgonnadie- I beg to differ regarding your comments about Ronson. Had you known enough facts about him to be able to form a strong opinion, you’d know that he released a full-length album called Here Comes The Fuzz in 2004, for which he wrote many of the songs as well as executing the usual DJ-typical samples etc. Onstage he plays guitar, keyboard and percussion, and, of course, he arranges all his music himself- no mean feat for an album with such instrumentation as Version.
Certainly doesn’t hurt that the man seems to ooze cool and charisma, but I think you’ll find he’s definitely more than a pretty face.

Thougt it was great. Whats in mean? Dylan “passing” through all the various “fads” of music while sticking to his roots. Still at the age of 65 holding strong as ever. “Time will tell, just who has fell, and who’s been left behind, when you go your way and I’ll go MINE!!!!”

mark ronson CAN be a DJ, he CAN be a Producer, but he’s actually a modern day big band and swing composer!
wereallgonnadie | 8/5/2007, 1:16 pm EST
A DJ is someone who spins records, a producer is someone who mediates between an artist and a recording engineer… and unless they’re capable of playing an actual musical instrument, or writing an actual song, they’re just knob twirlers and people pushers… Dylan’s been recording since the mono era… I doubt if Ronson will show us anything new. He’s just a flavour of the month opportunist who’s only real talent is promoting and selling himself like any other whore who hasn’t any real intellectual talent, just the physical attributes…
Randomguy | 7/28/2007, 10:28 pm EST
I’ve been a huge Dylan fan for quite a while, even learning to play a few of his songs. Then I fell in love with Amy Winehouse’s music.
Ronson’s a good D.J. as far I see it, he might just turn out to be this generations Phil Spector (lol hopefully without the Murder Rep)
But anyways yeah…I just heard about 30 or seconds of it on Mark Ronsons Myspace page. It starts out kinda odd, but it gets pretty good. Can check it there.

I would say it’s Blonde on Blonde, Blood on the Tracks, Highway 61 Revisited, Live 1966, Bringing It All Back Home, Freewheelin’. Then move onto Time Out Of MInd, Love and Theft and Modern Times, for the modern Dylan everyone is raving about.

What, no Blonde On Blonde??? That’s the one that finally hooked me.
DJ Super Fresh | 6/29/2007, 12:28 pm EST

Diahrrea Man | 6/29/2007, 12:11 pm EST
Hey Rolling Stone - put up more pics of Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen on your website instead of this old fart.
Youcan call meZimmy | 6/29/2007, 12:01 pm EST
For Dylan uncoverted, In this order, I would listen to Blood on the Tracks, John Wesley Harding, Highway 61 Revisted, The Free Wheeling Bob Dylan, and The 1965 Live Album from the Bootleg series.
If it doesn’t take by then, it never will
man | 6/29/2007, 11:32 am EST

It can’t be any worse than the iNeptunes’ mix of “Sympathy for the Devil” by the Rolling Stones.
