Robert Plant Laughs Off Led Zeppelin Reunion Rumors

6/28/07, 9:20 am EST

zepFor several days, a skepticism-inducing rumor has been making its way around the Internet, claiming that Led Zeppelin will reunite for a show memorializing late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, then head out on a tour. Mr. Robert Plant himself has now reportedly denied these claims, and even made a joke about the purported reunion: “If there was one, then there wouldn’t be enough doctors to support it!”

Followed the band 4 eva. Kept me going 4 as long. They have such a special touch. Glad I live in West Mids. Not far from JHB + their roots. O2 here I cum. WWFC

firehazard | 9/20/2007, 2:38 pm EST

It would be an honor to attend a concert of this magnitude. Long live Zep, past and present!

Robert | 9/19/2007, 5:58 pm EST

I love to smell my bottom. When my back end is moist I place my forfinger in just the right spot where I know for A fact I will get the results I need. Zep you make me.

joey | 9/19/2007, 5:53 pm EST

OH my GOSH! I love pumping loaf! I just pumped out a greasy luv log moments ago. It was bold yet tender. My boyfriend and I push out our soup together sometimes. GO ZEP!

jonny | 9/18/2007, 4:24 pm EST

They make my bowells run down my leg. They are so hot! I love pumping sticky loaf on the bowl when I lisen to Led Zeppelin. I am moist.

david | 9/18/2007, 4:20 pm EST

My boyfriend and I LOVE Led Zeppelin!

sue | 9/18/2007, 3:03 pm EST

Led Zep has been in my heart since I was a kid in the 70s. I was sorry to miss them in 1980 and hope they come to the US. BTW Robert will always be sexy.

Kubelwagen1977 | 9/17/2007, 4:39 pm EST

Yeah, I hope they do tour. I don’t give a shit if they are old! Its like, would you want to bring back a legend from the dead? Hell Yes, We would like to own a little part of that experience. Their image and former greatness will always stand tall. So go ahead, Rock on and do a tour/show!

ken | 9/17/2007, 4:28 pm EST

Very strange, it looks like most of the post’s here are from straight people. You would not think straights lisen to Zep. I have been gay and proud my entire life and never knew Zep was big with the non gay’s. GO ZEP!

Kubelwagen1977 | 9/17/2007, 3:25 pm EST

I grew up listening to this band and will always listen to this band, they speak to me! I’d love to see them but most likely cannot afford it. I was simply born too late to see them in their prime. Anyone that doesn’t care for Zeppelin can Piss-Off and leave their silly comments at other sites. Most other music just doesn’t vibe like the Zeppelin!

Doug | 9/17/2007, 12:59 pm EST

I remember the first time my boyfriend and I made love it was to Led Zeppelin. The best music for love. My man and I went on a fishishing trip, lot’s of Zep ands lot’s of anal!

carol | 9/17/2007, 12:42 pm EST

They did not write thier own music.

Tre | 9/17/2007, 10:38 am EST

I am disgusted with the comments made in many of these posts. If you do not like Zep then please don’t take the time and write it down because We don’t want to hear it. I am 26 and Zep, to me, is the greatest rock group of all time and I will try my hardest to go a see them. Its a shame that everyone can’t. So if you are a country fan, a rap fan or someone who just does not like music, keep your opinion to yourself and leave the Gods of Rock be. No one asked you to attend a show anyway.

goldengod | 9/17/2007, 5:17 am EST

I think the reunion will be great. I lived in asia all my life and didn’t have the chance to watch a live zep show in the 70’s. Now I’m paying for the ticket, hotel and planefare. All I have to do is hope that I get a ticket.
All those who bash zep here should be ignored. If they didn’t care about zep why would they spend time writing a comment even though it’s bad? So I think they like zep they just don’t want to admit it.

Ledheavy | 9/17/2007, 3:16 am EST

I’ve been listening to led zeppelin since the days of me playing the broom stick on the coffee table doing guitar solos…what can i say, a reunion tour, why not.
Page and Plant alone were amazing live so imagine our good friend Jonesy getting his gear out. They should do a tour commerating John Bonham by using his symbol the three rings and uniting the original members. Each members symbol inside the three rings if that makes sense.Call it the salute to rocknroll tour.I can go on to say that if it weren’t for led zeppelin i would not be a musician or alive for that matter.

Randy | 9/16/2007, 5:55 pm EST

Let the legends live on. Led Zepplion is beyond being reborn grew up in their time and they always will be REMEMBERED as one of the best rock and roll bands in history, but you can’t rekindle the true heart of the band, waste of time

lou | 9/16/2007, 1:20 pm EST

Pete, I get where ya cumming from. Led Zeppelin and lots of naked dudes, that’s a combo that id like to supersize. Jimmy page and I made out backstage in 96! It was so hot!

Pete | 9/16/2007, 1:15 pm EST

Those guys are so hot. I want to rub my hairy chest all over Zep. Robert could plant his you know what in my you know where. Zep is the perfect music for me. They are so what im into.
I just plain crave beef. I lisen to them when im looking in the underware section of the sears catalog. Zep, you showed me the way to live!

Slabo | 9/16/2007, 11:51 am EST

Hey Stany-poo, put down your Banjo solo from the hick film Deliverance…it doesn’t come close to Jimmy Page’s solos on NO QUARTER or TEA for ONE !
I bet all these moronic clowns like Stan below “thinks” it’s pathetic that Jazz great Winton Marsalis still listens to Jimi Hendrix,John Coltrane and Miles Davis. These shallow MTV pop morons like Stan and his ilk are more comical than friggin’ BORAT!

Slabo | 9/16/2007, 11:17 am EST

Regarding Stan’s comment above that people who still listen to Zep are “retards & lame asses”. Yeah right, like those ” retards that still listen to Mozart,Beethoven and the Beatles right? Hey Stany-poo, Abba ain’t cool okay…and learn how to spell retard lame ass.

Andrew | 9/16/2007, 3:10 am EST

damn,, tons of posts, didn’t take the time to read them all. I’m 23, and Zep’s my all time favorite band. So yes,, it would be damn exciting it they toured. But oh well, if it doesn’t happen. And if it happened and they sucked, that would be regretable

Vanessa | 9/15/2007, 7:51 pm EST

Led Zeppelin was the ABSOLUTE greatest rock band of all times! BUT….The magic died with John Bonham. That was evident with the Page/Plant tour. They did John Paul Jones a favor by not wanting him there. The Song may Remain the Same, but the band doesn’t. RIP Led Zeppelin.

stan | 9/15/2007, 2:14 pm EST

It’s really sad and pathetic that thier are still retards out thier that still lisen to this band. LAME ASS MORONS.

mark | 9/15/2007, 2:11 pm EST

mark | 9/15/2007, 1:03 pm EST

I first met Robert Plant in 1972 in a mens room stall. All he cared about was stuffing his mouth with my penis, the whole band was like that.

tim | 9/15/2007, 1:01 pm EST

I can’t believe some of these posts, Led Zeppelin? Give me a break. These guys cant even dance. They got no skills. How old are they?

Angel | 9/15/2007, 12:28 am EST

Saw Page & Plant in the late 90’s Excelloent, JPJ shorly after then TOO excellent, Plant the year later, excellent. They are all tallented and sound awesome. Robert was looking real good. I am hoping my dream comes true. Gotta have some.

Kudos Rianne!!! . I can’t believe some of these posts. If you don’t like zeppelin then you don’t but please stop making all these stupid comments about a band that you probably know nothing about. And for all you zep fans don’t even give them your time because as Rianne says these people don’t know music. I can’t blame them with all these crappy sounds that mtv calls music. Its always about whats popular but in a few years no one will remember this music. Zeppelin’s music stands the test of time and I should know because it touched me 3 decades later and will also touch many more people years from now. Led Zeppelin is timeless!

Rianne | 9/14/2007, 10:26 pm EST

Im 22, a mother of 2. I always knew of lzep growin up, but never really listened to them…well not till i met my husband…..whos a known zeppelin freak. we have all the dvds, cds, records, you name it we have it. i now love zeppelin and know more than about them than i ever did any other band. my husbands whole family loves zeppelin, his father, his brothers, all of them. what saddens me now is all this negativity im reading on this page. think about it, a lot of you have probably dreamed about this day…ZEPPELIN! getting back together! my husband about fainted. that in itself is a once in a lifetime opportunity. who the hell cares if they are getting older who cares what robert looks like. they are rock gods! gods i tell you! jimmy page alone pours more soul into one song than a lot of people pour into a minute of their day. they are a part of rock n roll history. and this reunion is history in the making…be proud as zeppelin fans that you can have the chance to take part in history, whether you are a fan going to the concert,or if you are a “sometimes” listener. this is zeppelins gift not only to the man that helped make them a household name, but to the fans, whether they sound good or not.

I havn’t ever listened to any of Plant’s or Page’s new solo stuff. I’ve seen a few on VH1 classic. But at 56 I still would like to see them(Zeppelin)live one more time. I saw them in Birmingham, Alabama in 1976 and I will never forget it. I saw Pink Floyd there also in 1995 they were old but boy did they rock. I have grown kids that are Zep fans and it would be nice to make it a family affair. They don,t have to jump around and destroy their instruments or catch girls’ pantys. It would be good even if they stay seated and play like an orcestra because their music is just as complex and technical as clasical music. SO wake up and realize that if it happens it will be great and those privilaged enough to experience it, will also never forget it. I’ll tell you this hip hop modern shit they are calling music does’nt even rate the name music. And when it comes to rap, well they left the “C” off that word.

Melissa from L.A. | 9/14/2007, 4:21 pm EST

What the hell is wrong with these weirdos…you stupid fuckin idiots….who don’t know what real music is all about….You have alot to learn….you wouldn’t know genious music if it hit you in the face….and that’s coming form a bad ass vocalist that can kick your ass BITCHES!

Biggest Fan Ever | 9/14/2007, 3:51 pm EST

Those of you who think this band sucks no nothing about rock music. I grew up with them and they are the best ever. I would pay anything to see them in a reunion, as old as they are, I am too……

randy | 9/14/2007, 3:35 pm EST

Hey You Robert
I’m from a country you may even have heard of.
Hello, my city is just under Chicago in the opposite side of the globe. We are very excited here of your reunion and you’re gonna disappoint us. C’mon you were the people of our father’s heydays and still I’m buying ya original CD’s instead of cheap pirated ones.
Why?
Because we respect you.
You were and are the best bands in the whole rock world.
Give it a shot Zeppy!

Rob | 9/14/2007, 12:49 am EST

Hey john your mom sucked 30 years ago but you still love her.You say led zeppelin sucks your just talkin outta your loose gasket asshole now shut the fuck up.

Alex (chick) | 9/14/2007, 12:22 am EST

I love led zeppelin and robert plant. I too am one of the young generation of zeppelin fans (I’m only 18). I am super ecstatic that they are reuniting 2 days before my birthday. My only regret is the possibility of getting tix. I can only hope that they will have a U.S. tour so that I can proudly say I attended a zep concert in my lifetime. Led Zeppelin is my life!!!!

ERIC!!! | 9/13/2007, 10:43 pm EST

. Mr. Robert Plant himself has now reportedly denied these claims, and even made a joke about the purported reunion: “If there was one, then there wouldn’t be enough doctors to support it!”

Hope they will have enough doctors!!!!! Funny how they try to disclaim a rumour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Canoeman | 9/13/2007, 5:54 pm EST

Funny that Rolling Stone, the publication named after the most overrated rock band of all time, which ignored the biggest rock band in the world during their career, now gets it wrong that this rumor is untrue. It’s for real today:

http://music.guardian. co.uk/news/story/0,,2168465,00 .html

Yeah, they must have really sucked for 20 million fans to crash the Internet servers. Old and frail they may be, but it will still be the biggest reunion in rock history.

dave | 9/13/2007, 5:36 pm EST

these guys are professionals, always have been. I saw zeppelin twice, i saw jimmy and robert together, and each show was better than the last. I saw other groups in the seventies in their prime as well, and the band that was the best…well you know who it was.SOZO

colesy | 9/13/2007, 3:31 pm EST

Yeah, it’s true. Zeppelin had little to no influence on popular music as we know it today. In addition, during their embarrassingly unsuccessful 12 year run, they consistenly failed to provide fans with entertaining live performances and never cleverly incorporated previously unheard of (in the west) styles of music into their songs. Finally, they only sold a few thousand albums worldwide and weren’t even good at partying like rock stars. Foghat was much better. Long live foghat and other cheap rock forever.

ken | 9/13/2007, 12:15 pm EST

LED ZEP ? Give me a break. They have allways sucked big time.

tim | 9/13/2007, 12:13 pm EST

This was one of the worst bands of all time…Why? Who the hell wants to hear this crap again? LAME!

john | 9/13/2007, 12:08 pm EST

This band sucked 30 years ago, ya think it’s going to be better now that thier old and frail? They will look like old fools. Pathetic.

Zeppelin Ruuuulllles
Who gives a flying fuk that they are old.The show will be great regardless.Zep is one of the greatest bands ever. They are better than any of this so called new “music”.coheed & cumbria, fallout boy what the fuk is that shit.Even metallica they sound good on disc but I’ve seen em do some shitty live performances.BTW I saw the Black Sabbath reunion a few years back and they rocked so fucking hard that I was completely and utterly amazed So all you nay sayers SUCK MY BALLZ

Lindene | 9/9/2007, 9:52 pm EST

I’m glad to recognize that among the fools who write about what they don’t know, we Plant and Zeppelin fans know Robert still and will always look and sound great because it is true and honest. His intelligence is obviously transcends of some of these shallow ankle biters writing in. Whatever they collectively decide to do, I’m sure it will be the right thing, I’ve always held them and their decisions in highest regard and in great respect.

maria | 9/8/2007, 5:16 pm EST

omg i cannot believe all the hostility i’m reading on here! seriously people nothing at all is ever going to be the same again ,i’m truly fed- up with hearing how bad robert plant looks seriously what you expect him to look like a 25 year old forever? thats truly ridiculous i frankly don’t care how he looks the man is a legend in my eyes and always will be whether he ever reunites with led zeppelin again is truly a whole other story , just leave the man alone already! and stop with this b.s!

ZepFest 97 | 9/5/2007, 1:02 pm EST

SAW PAGE AND PLANT ON TORONTO IN 98. GREAT SHOW. WOULD PAY TO SEE THEM AGAIN. JPJ AND JASON WITH THEM WOULD BE AWSOME

ledwallett | 9/4/2007, 7:56 pm EST

whos laughing now? its all but confirmed that they will do a one off concert and a possible tour pending the outcome. little robert anthony must be getting paid bigtime!

Midlander | 8/24/2007, 11:50 am EST

Some very strange comments on this site. Simple truth is LZ were the best there was. Now individually they are still great musicians in their own right - but the four of them together produced something quite unique. If they come together again with Jason undoubtedly they will still have a measure of that magic and I for one will be in that queue for a ticket. Don’t understand the venom aimed at them, you want to see em you buy a ticket - you don’t want to see em you don’t. Whatever the quality of the performance nothing will detract from the musical legacy they have left us already. Personally I love what Plant has done post ZP, seen him many times and even drunk with him at my local pub. He’s a regular guy what you see is what you get. Its their decision on what if anything they do next. Real fans will respect that.

miccc | 8/17/2007, 7:29 pm EST

Led Zeppelin, despite the vastly outnumbered Lilliputian chorus of reflexive whiners, remain the greatest rock band to have ever strut this earth. Sadly, they ceased to exist the instant John Bonham died. Without Bonham the magical Zeppelin chemistry is gone. Zeppelin’s astounding body of work is, in the end, all that matters, and it is powerfully converting tens of thousands of new fans every single year. RIP Bonzo.

Zeppelin lives forever | 8/16/2007, 6:47 pm EST

I have seen The Song Remains the Same over 300 times paying for it at the midnight movies and countless other times on my vcr

strapper2007 | 8/6/2007, 10:09 pm EST

I serviced the boeing 707 they flew into New Mexico, I was there when john bonham had a fight with Mr Graham and the show was delayed for 2 hours in the Oakland Coluseum, I have seen robert plant everytime he come to houston. I hope they get together and bring rock and roll back to earth…

Shane | 8/2/2007, 1:05 pm EST

Led Zeppelin = music = peace, spirit, beauty, raw nature, transcendentalism, zen, identity.

Led Zep-Head | 7/31/2007, 11:12 am EST

Ok, It is true Robert doesnt hit the high notes the same (that is a fact). But he still sounds good. They are all still active in music and still play to this day. If your going to see the Zep from 1969-1980 your not gonna get that. But what you will see is musicians who have grown and still love and feel music. You should respect anyone for standing by their music. I have to say if they reunite I would give my left nut to go to a show. Know this if they reunite and you go to a show you will leave knowing that you just witnessed a show you will be telling your grandkids about when you are 60. It would be nothing less than an experience of a lifetime. You would get nothing less from some of the greatist rock musicians who have ever walked the earth. Remember music is life…

Led Zeppelin Fan For Life.

Last night I went to see Robert Plant and Strange Sensations play in Los Alcázares in Spain. Brilliant. I saw Led Zeppelin live in 1973 and would love to have the chance pass to see them perform live again but I can´t take anything away from Robert Plant last night.
Their finale of Whole lotta love was definitely not whole lotta playing golf and made it all worthwhile. (and he is definitely not hunched over and arthritic!!)

Why would anyone criticize members of the greatest rock group of all time? They were at their best when I was in high school and their music got me through a lot of hard times. Who are you to say they would not be able to live up to their past performances? Do you think they are stupid enough to tour with out being at the top of their game? I don’t think so. To be able to go to a concert with my sons and be able to see a group we both love, would be awesome! Leave them alone! If you don’t want to see them in concert and think they would be awful, then DON”T GO!! But I will be first in line to get their tickets and you will miss out on the concert of the century.

zepfan123 | 7/25/2007, 10:42 pm EST

they wont join again because they vowed to never play again as a band with out bonzo. and ya i know they did the live aid concert, but the cause for that was too hard to pass up, and phil collins was the drummer.

niceaboy | 7/21/2007, 2:08 pm EST

I just turned 50 and it kills me to say I never got to see Zep. I had tickets in my hand twice.( Still have the tickets ) The first when Roberts son died and the second when Bonham died. I had the pleasure of seeing Page/Plant twice and Page with Black Crowes.
All 3 were unforgettable shows. These guys are a class act whenever they play or who-ever they play with. I took my 18 year old son to see Page/Black Crowes. He was so speachless and overwhelmed by the playing of Page.
Something he will surely never forget. Now..A Re-union?? I think I answered that question!!

Jimmy | 7/17/2007, 9:21 am EST

Old? c’mon!! all they need to do is sit down with some good drugs, record an album, and tour. They can rake in the dough from a tour, merchandise, dvd then brake up and lambaste each other all over again. Now that’s rock & roll!!!

Milosppf | 7/15/2007, 2:40 pm EST

I’d sold my soul to see Led Zepp in Serbia

led zeppelin lover | 7/15/2007, 12:18 am EST

i really hope led zeppelin will go to have reunion concert in 2008 with jason bonham. i really want to watch them play with him and i hope led zeppelin will go to asia to have a concert too..

rercman | 7/14/2007, 1:48 pm EST

I just saw ‘The Police’ in miami, and they Rocked!…they’re about the same age as the guys from Led Z……I dont see why age will be a factor; of course, they wont sound like back in the 70’s…but hey, It’ll be a lifetime experience.

looneyforledzep1963 | 7/12/2007, 6:54 pm EST

as long as bonzo is dead there is no chance of a led zep reunion tour.i’d hate to see them go out on tour and look shitty like the who and skynyrd do now.a one time show would be ok,but not a tour.led zep always had more class than that!

mike | 7/11/2007, 8:19 am EST

Tesla? Nikolai Tesla? the ridiculed electronics genius? no i guess not! Look, it aint over till the fat lady sings! i went to page & plant in wembly in 98, not out of choice as such, someone offered me a last min ticket and i thought, what the hell! glad i went! it was awesome, they did loads of the first album, just a shame about the clarksdale album! oops! nevermind! outrider is better, never been a fan of plants solo stuff, was having a good laugh at the terribly 80’s sounding pop album now and zen just the other day.

anyway, i for one would give my high teeth to see the 3 remaining members of led zeppelin, in fact i’d give my grandmothers teeth!!! shes dead tho…

i just think they should not call it led zeppelin, something like led zepp too would be good tho…?

A fan 53211 | 7/11/2007, 1:44 am EST

All i have to say is I would give anything to see them live..They are amazing and always will be in my mind. And it would be great!

William Allen Metcalf | 7/9/2007, 11:17 am EST

This is really difficult. Led Zeppelin was and always will be divine. Truthfully, they are not complete without John Henry Bonham. However I would love to see Jason, in memory and tribute to his father, play the song he helped to name with the band.
I feel like these 8 albums graced to us, at times, are a soundtrack to my life with mundane and meaningful synchronizations. I just wish that I was not too young, 22, and able to have been lucky, and privileged, enough to experience the soul, spirit, and message of Led Zeppelin live. Furthermore, your eye’s and ear’s can decieve you with their very limited capabilities. It is with your internal energy that you must observe and absorb the true power of Led Zeppelin. It is whether that is still intact that, in my mind, will decide the reunion. Not the looks and sounds of the members taking part.

May you Rock us one more time on our way from here to there.

Sincerely,
- Bill Metcalf

Am 55 & took my 18 year old to see Bob Dylan. He performed like an 80 year old. Apologized to my son who humbled me with a philisophical question “if Jimmy Hendrix was comming to town” (which of course is impossible) & you were advised his act was horrible would you go? It took one second to respond affirmatively.

This will be the approach. I’ll fly & pay whatever it takes in order to see my all time favorite band. Will have low expectations & If they suck I’ll be satisfied that I saw the legends before I die. If they are decent than Wow!!!

Matt | 7/7/2007, 6:58 pm EST

Look people age is not the problem. 60 year olds still climb up everest! you would be amazed! its just a matter of if there willing to get off their asses and play a show!

Robert Plant is to busy covering Led Zeppelin songs with the strange sensations.
Complete load.

Plant always says something naff

age? | 7/3/2007, 7:23 pm EST

saying that they shouldnt reunite because of age is just ridiculous. Look at Rush! They sound exactly the same live and arent living off their hits from the 70s. Theyve never stopped writing music. Now thats a band.

I’m colombian and I don’t speak english very well, but I want to say something…. Led Zeppelin is my favorite band ever, and every time I hear Zep its feel like being in the heaven. Oh, I had given my life to know them personally.

kendall | 7/2/2007, 8:46 am EST

y is there so much hostility from people here thats not what led zeppelin are all about there about quality music loved by millions and i know for sure if they do tour ill b there front row lovin every second of it even if it does cost me an excess of 100 pounds u lot need to stop hating and remeber its all about the music!!!

Maybe they won’t come to my coutry, mayby i won’t see them in my life.
please pray for led zeppelin.
we’re dreaming.

santheman | 7/1/2007, 6:48 am EST

I too saw Page and Plant in 1995. There is soo much involved in the power of music, and to have a bunch of nobody’s to critic it, is so typical of the ramblin’s of some frustrated fools who never amounted to much. Pencil neck comes to mind when your lips start moving. Meet me out in the alley, and I will kick your ass(look for the music thumping beautiful red-head female)enough said!!!!

drunkperson | 7/1/2007, 2:32 am EST

I don’t know why I’m responding to this. Maybe it’s because I’m drunk. Anyway, I love Led Zeppelin. It’s sad to think that there’s been noone even close to these guys in over 25 years. I think the world is coming to an end. That must be it! Anyway, goodbye cruel world! Wake me up if anything really worthwhile comes along. (Not holding my breath here!) Adios!

Even if “Led Zeppelin” did reunite, IT WOULDN’T BE LED ZEPPELIN!!! It would be a bunch of 60-year-olds playing Led Zeppelin songs. Who wants to see that?

Besides, Zeppelin were so terrible at the Live Aid reunion (22 years ago) that they refused to allow the footage on the DVD.

cindy | 6/30/2007, 1:26 pm EST

oh, and this one is for Nick, you are soooo stupid, get a dictionary and learn how to spell before you post comments. You obviously have an I.Q. of about 60. Ok I’m done, I’ve never posted anything anywhere in my life but trashing Plant went toooooo far, so thats it I’m out.

cindy | 6/30/2007, 1:17 pm EST

Also Robert doesn’t have to hit those high notes anymore, he does the songs in different ways, you people shouldn’t comment on what you don’t know. And as for the comment from the fool that said they have no soul anymore so they shouldn’t tour, soul is what it’s always been about for Robert and the guys. They live and breath soul. Dont’ speak if you don’t know.

cindy | 6/30/2007, 1:10 pm EST

This is for all the idiots out there that have anything bad to say about Robert Plant. First of all, learn how to spell (arthritis) what a bunch of fools. You people can’t even spell yet you have the nerve to talk about Robert Plant. Robert Plant looks great, sounds great, and is great. P.S. He’s way too intelligent to even bother with caring about morons like Howard Stern or anyone else. Go to hell pathetic losers

dr Flanders | 6/28/2007, 9:53 pm EST

I think Neil Young had a pretty solid album with prarie wind. All these guys made good and bad albums, alot of times they lost steam toward the end, probably having alot to do with why they broke up. But these guys should do what they want, and not worry about legacy or whatever. The Whos last album wasnt the same…not even close, but it was still better than half the new shit out there.

jojo | 6/28/2007, 7:08 pm EST

Rolling Stone magazine never liked Zep as they exposed them for the ripoff frauds they were! Howard Stern, who is the greatest radio personality in history, has had two great shows on exposing zep as frauds and will not quit until he personally grinds them to dust. Robert Plant is at least smart enough to realize that a tour would be a miserable failure. Arena’s half full and protesters at each venue. Zep could not compete with the musical talent that is out there today thanks to American Idol.

Spice Girls Forever!!!!!

I’m so glad that there is a general agreement that Zep should not reunite and not tour. Everyone is right, they should preserve their legendary status and not ruin it by attempting a reunion, it would not be the same…it could not be the same, so we should all just leave their performances preserved in their glorious past and hope that the current adult youth generation can muster up enough talent to throw something comparable in genius at our culture…so the indie thing has to die and people need to get back to rock n roll…and it looks like thats beginning to happen. The rock n roll revolution is beginning!

Zeppelin could sell out Montana. Plant has proven time and again that he has a great deal of respect and integrity not only for the blues but for his legacy. Page on the other hand, what was up with The Firm and Coverdale Page?
His work since the band folded has been thought provoking and intriguing to say the least. Look at the Stones and The Who. It has become a bit embarrassing. I get these monthly newsletters to buy thongs and a whole lot of what-not from the the Stones and the Who? It should be billed as Daltry and Townshend. See you in Clarksdale Pearcy.

“Zep are the biggest ripoff artists of the 20th century. ask Howard Stern!! Anyway the real reunion tour has been anounced the Spice Girls which would crush any zep tour!!!!”

I can only assume that you’re being facetious, because otherwise you’re tasteless imbecile. The Spice Girls were nothing more than a soft core strip show. A bunch of hot girls with no musical talent bouncing around in little to no clothing.

And of course you’d side with Howard Stern in something like this; the majority of his guests are and always have been whores, strippers and skanks. Did you ever watch his televised shows? Except for once every blue moon, the guest(s) would be some young hot chick taking her top off for Howard. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it doesn’t exactly make the man an acredited music critic.

Beyond that tired old “Zeppelin MAY have ripped off some old blues musicians riffs” argument (welcome to rock and roll, buddy), point out to me this vast catalog of music that sounds just like Zeppelin’s stuff. I mean, cause we’ve all heard those songs that “Dazed and Confused,” “Kashmir,” and “The Immigrant Song” are clearly based off of. Every time I hear Robert Plant unleash a screaming Viking war call or Jimmy Page play the electric guitar with a violin bow, I think to myself “dude, BB King SO already did that. This stuff is so lame and unoriginal! Let me pop in some Spice Girls! I can’t wait to start up a cd of tone deaf cheerleaders garbling out a song written by some corporate hit producer!”

Or perhaps because the band parties so hard on tour that medical staffing would be inadequate?

Somebody fill me in, please!

The bands that are “hot” now have no lasting power. Will anyone be even discussing a Fall Out Boy reunion 30 years from now….hell…how about 3 years from now….NO F’n WAY!

ZEP RULES!!!!

Me | 6/28/2007, 12:45 pm EST

It would be fantastic. It wouldn’t detract from their legacy whether they went out on tour or not.
Damn, I hope they do. I was born in 79, so obviously didn’t get a chance to see them.

zepgirl | 6/28/2007, 12:25 pm EST

It’s smart of Zep to stay away from reunions. They’ve declined gracefully, involved in their own seperate projects, instead of in the spotlight of a superbowl arena where you can see every wrinkle and hear every scratch and pop. Nope, unlike most 70s bands they’ve had the grace to admit that they’re old. They always leave us wanting more and so their mystique lives on. I’ll always picture them as the young hellraisers instead of wizened mummies (sorry Mick! I still love you!) or rockers who cut their hair to look like yuppie shadows of their former selves (sorry Roger! You still swing that mic pretty good!). I’ve seen Robert and heard Jimmy in recent years and they both still have it. (Robert’s voice, not so good on Clarksdale, was awesome when he opened for the Who and back in fine form on Mighty R. and Page actually sounds better with the Crowes than on many Zep tracks! His technique got sharper and more honed with age and experience.) But they aren’t young men anymore and it’s refreshing that they have the sense to admit it.
Love you, Robert!

I really like the direction Robert’s been going in on ‘Mighty Rearranger’ & ‘Dreamland’, so I’m happy if he keeps wanting to work on new material. But I’m not sayin’ I wouldn’t be goin’ if LZ got back together, either! Wheel ‘em out on wheelchairs, I don’t care. Get some carrot smoothies & protein shakes in ‘em so they can get out there and get out there and swing the Walker of the Gods!

(…and they still won’t play ‘Stairway’, I’ll bet!)

jungleland | 6/28/2007, 11:30 am EST

Last Robert Plant CD was the best thing he has done since LZ, why would he want to go out on an “oldies” tour, split the door 4 ways and get bashed for it not sounding like 1971?

Plant is better off as a solo artist with his Strange Sensation band and doing a few LZ songs (ones he can still do justice to) and playing cooler smaller places.

TEABAG | 6/28/2007, 11:25 am EST

I dont understand where these rumors come from. It seems like every year a rumor about them getting back together comes out and they shoot it down. People get it through your heads, they are never going to get back together and thats the way it should be. Don’t get me wrong though,I love Led Zeppelin. I just dont want them limping around on a stage like the Rolling Stones, who were a great band that ruined everything by continuing on way past their prime.

I saw Zeppelin in 1968 one of the first US shows they did in Newport Rhode Island. They were a backup band for Country Joe and the Fish . It coast $2.00 to get in. Outdoor festiful. They blew the doors off. THe kids went bazerk. It started to rain and all were rushed under a large tent. I was standing right next to John Bonham.

A regular guy . Did’t say much .

It was a great moment in time.

They should let it be.

People will compare and thats not fair . I’m sure it will be a dissapointment . Thats all I have to day.

The last thing we need is an extremely overrated band reuniting and charging 300 dollars for a high balcony seat. I think we can all live without 90 minutes of a bunch of old burnouts barely being able to play their own song. Good Call Zep!!

The last thing we need is an extremely overrated band touring so they can make a shitload of money and play for an 90 minutes. Good call zep!

These young whippersnappers should get together and tour. It will help the country get their mind off the disaster I created in Iraq.

Let’s face it Zeppelin needs to get the Led out of their ass.

They are to old and slow.

Robert Plant cannot sing like old days . Jimmy Page cannot play like old days. Whole Lotta Love will sound like a Whole lotta playin golf. Beleive me they will certainaly be DAZED n CONfused.

To bad boys HANG IT UP.

SUCH A GREAT BAND .

abandonedstation | 6/28/2007, 10:42 am EST

good call, robert. preserve the magic. plus it helps to know that you’re…uh…over the hill (said with loads of respect)

JB is spinning in his grave | 6/28/2007, 10:39 am EST

Robert Plant can’t sing his way out of a wet paper bag now! I am so glad, without JB there is now Zeppelin.

I hope Zep never does a tour ,, i would like to keep the genius and legend intact. I think it would be a pitiful scene to watch these guys on stage supported by the likes of big corporations …. Coke,Pepsi,Verizon…ETC

Let the mighty Zep rest in Peace and not awaken the Hammer of the Gods

Jeremie | 6/28/2007, 10:36 am EST

I watched the Led Zeppelin DVD the other day. I don’t want them to do a reunion. I think it would tarnish their reputation, especially given the fact that they’ve refused to do it for so long now.

Banjo | 6/28/2007, 10:31 am EST

Dammit Dammit!!!
why do they keep doing this?! just play one frigging show and see how it goes!!! why is that so hard?!

yuck it UP | 6/28/2007, 10:31 am EST

Jake Burns | 6/28/2007, 10:27 am EST

Kurt's Corpse | 6/28/2007, 10:07 am EST

That’s too bad….they’re older, but it would still be an incredible show…

gary the retard | 6/28/2007, 10:05 am EST

this has always been r plant’s decision hope he stays firm the page plant was good enough - why force something even for 300 million advance before you even play a show - the police tour is not that good i enjoy watching the old 80’s dvds of the police much better

Rockstar70 | 6/28/2007, 10:02 am EST
