
- The Verve, the spacey Britpop band that brought you “Bittersweet Symphony” (plus lots of other great songs that never really resonated Stateside), have announced plans to reunite with a new tour and album. Band members Richard Ashcroft (who once appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone) and Nick McCabe have put aside the differences that led to their 1999 breakup and were back in a London studio last week. Four of the five original members will take part; guitarist Simon Tong now performs alongside Damon Albarn in Blur and The Good, The Bad & The Queen.
- First Volkswagen, now Nintendo?: Playing Wii Tennis is fun, but Wilco might be taking it a bit too far.
- Justin Timberlake has been accused of spitting on a group of taunting teenagers in Sweden. The victims then vowed that they will never wash JT’s saliva from their hair.
- Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner was not serious about forming a supergroup with Lily Allen, members of the Klaxons and Dizzee Rascal. Apparently, some media outlets didn’t get the “It was a joke” memo.
- The Beatles’ George Harrison is set to join the ranks of Chuck Norris and Big Bird by getting a star posthumously on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008. Also receiving the honor of being trampled daily by L.A. tourists are Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
