I like how Sheffield did not review the Adams record because he has to be “cool” and compare it to The White Stripes. It was like watching Hilary Clinton duck another question. Easy Tiger is a breath of fresh air in this damn music world!

Righteous Johnson | 6/30/2007, 1:16 pm EST

Put Robert Christgau back on!

Jim | 6/30/2007, 1:04 pm EST

They’re no Bangs, Gleason, or Wasserman….

Nathalia | 6/29/2007, 10:09 pm EST

RS is big on censorship nowadays–can’t take the heat, can ya, ya pansies?

Johnson Krinkle | 6/29/2007, 1:17 pm EST

Sheffield salivates thinking about eating Levy’s dirty underwear.

Care to respond, RS? Or are we just censoring now?

Jim | 6/28/2007, 12:48 pm EST

My 2 posts were deleted. There was no profanity, just an honest criticism of the broadcast.
RS claims to be so free-thinking with their editorials and tributes to the spirit of the 60’s, blah, blah, but when push comes to shove,
they show their true colors.

If sausage could: (1) write; (2) type; (3) spell — that would be a start. Sorry, this is clearly off-topic, but everyone is so mean.

Sheffield is The Faces in a world that wants Fleetwood Mac.

ERik | 6/27/2007, 1:19 pm EST

Someone should tell Rob that Ryan & Jack’s Fued ended in 2005.

The guy on the left and right | 6/27/2007, 10:05 am EST

The guy on the right has been in the business for more time, and it shows by his comments. The guy on the left has a long way to go, but will be impressive in a few years of experience. i read rolling stone to get people like the guy on the right’s comments, not the guy on the left. if i wanted to hear comments like the guy on the left, i would call any of my friends.

what’s with comparing white stripes out of the blue to pan ryan? jeez.
the album’s great and you know it, sheffied, its written all over your face and you know it, but you have some vendetta.

Banjo | 6/27/2007, 8:31 am EST

I’ve never felt so disgusted with music reviews as I do with those done by Sheffield. It seems like every review he does is solely based on whether he’s having a good day or not. i don’t think he even listens to the albums.

Brennan | 6/27/2007, 3:25 am EST

Bryan Adams and Ryan Adams are two different people.

GQtaste | 6/27/2007, 12:51 am EST

I didn’t even know the Boys had a new album coming out. F’ing record industry.

Laura Forde | 6/26/2007, 11:46 pm EST

I’ll subscribe to this New Music Tuesday thing only if you tell me what button Rob is wearing on his sweater. Incidentally, I love the new Beastie Boys record, but then I loved Interiors too. And I’m brave enough to use my real name here, the rest of you are cowards.

adam | 6/26/2007, 11:44 pm EST

why would the white stripes come into this discussion at all? just because they came out in the same month meanss nothing. theyre 2 completely different artists, and jsut because they both play the guitar a little differently than kelly clarkson’s backing band doesnt mean that theyre the heads of some new resurgence of old music, because people have always been playing ryan adams’ type of music just not in the public spotlight.

TigerPants | 6/26/2007, 10:47 pm EST

I like Ryan Adams and will continue to do so, no matter what RS says. I also like the White Stripes and will continue to do so, no matter how much empty praise RS offers. Both new albums are good- one makes you try harder than the other, but Im dedicated and will get over it. Do yourself a favor and buy the new Wilco- I love work that I can actually listen to.

mike | 6/26/2007, 8:16 pm EST

and what about the pearl jam box set of live shows at the gorge?

easy t | 6/26/2007, 7:59 pm EST

VOO | 6/26/2007, 7:07 pm EST

KING DIAMOND RULES ALL! | 6/26/2007, 7:02 pm EST

BUY THE NEW KING DIAMOND!

Ryan Adams is still around! | 6/26/2007, 6:59 pm EST

I remember seeing him open for REO SPEEDWAGON in 1984.

Skyline | 6/26/2007, 6:32 pm EST

Rolling Stone, I love how you belittle Adams while trying to pass it off as a solid album. Comparing it to White Stripes? Unreal.
