FREE MP3: Bob Marley’s “Soul Shakedown Party” Remix

6/26/07, 2:24 pm EST

A collection of cool producers (including DJ Spooky, Yes King and Jimpster) have applied themselves to the formidable task of remixing classic Bob Marley tunes for a new collection called Roots, Rock, Remixed (rockr/Quango/Tuff Gong). The album isn’t out until July 24, but you can download Afrodisiac Sound System’s take on “Soul Shakedown Party” right here, right now.

Actually, this track is quite good, and it is coming out on Tuff Gong, so it’s gotta be kinda good, right?

Just hope the rest of the tracks are as good as this one.

this mix is very tasteful – way better than previous Marley remixes. Seeing as the roots of electronic music is in dub and reggae this is a natural progression.

I dig it. I’m boogieing around the computer now. Soul Shakedown indeed! I’m stoked to hear the rest of the tracks…
