• Watch Mark Ronson and an animated Lily Allen in the Who Framed Roger Rabbit?-esque video for “Oh My God.” Look out for the quick cameo by the Kaiser Chiefs, if anybody on this side of the Atlantic knows what a Kaiser Chief looks like.
• The Jam’s Paul Weller and ex-Blur guitarist Graham Coxon are collaborating on a song called “This Old Town,” which will be available as a digital download on July 3rd. Just in case you didn’t think that combo was supergroup enough, they’re employing Ringo Starr’s kid on drums. Eat that, The Good The Bad & The Queen.
• Mash-up pioneers Aerosmith and a Runless-DMC are rumored to be reuniting in London for a one-night-only performance of “Walk This Way,” according to a press release. Aerosmith is playing a Hard Rock Café-sponsored concert, where DMC will serve as special ambassador. While he isn’t mentioned in the press release, is the Reverend Run on a flight to London?
• 50 Cent is bringing his mastery of the monosyllabic to the big screen as he appears in Righteous Kill, a crime drama that will reunite Oscar winners Robert De Niro and Al Pacino for the first time since 1995’s Heat. 50 Cent is set to suspend our disbelief in the role of a drug dealer.
• The BBC will premiere an unreleased Joe Strummer song titled “Divorcing Jack,” which was written for a movie of the same name but not used.
