- From the rumour-happy Glastonbury music festival comes word that members of Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things might join together and form a band called The Libertines. The evidence: Both bands are scheduled to play the fest, and Carl Barat and Pete Doherty — in addition to reuniting onstage in London last April — did collaborate on a Beatles cover recently. Still, this is Glastonbury, a festival organized by people who hinted that we were getting a Creedence Clearwater Revival reunion at the 2007 festival. Instead, we’re getting John Fogerty.
- Sorry, Portland Trailblazers fans: Sufjan Stevens is NOT, as of now, dedicating his next stately tribute to Oregon. The Beaver State has this page to thank for the hoax.
- The 8 Diagrams will be the name of the Wu-Tang Clan’s new album, the group’s first studio effort since 2001. Q-Tip, Marley Marl, and E.Z. are among the collaborators.
- Following the Wu’s cue, James Blunt has a new album of his own to announce. All The Lost Souls is out September 17th and will feature first single “1973,” “I Really Want You,” and “Annie.”
- Michael Jackson is convinced he’s losing money because his family and friends are robbing him, and not because he buys things like The Elephant Man’s bones.
