come on! The guy directed Taxi! And the first one sucked big time!

Mindless, masses should be exposed to this i guess. jessica albas CAMELTOE was the TRUE star of this thing called movie. my head hurt really bad but then again i was hungover. but the acting, schucks!! and those effects OHHMUUUGGOD

Shaka Kaka | 6/18/2007, 6:34 pm EST

There is nothing cool about comic book fans, whethere they like the new Fantastic Four movie or not.

Moody | 6/17/2007, 10:12 pm EST

the movie was good. every one who says it sucked is just trying to be cool so dont listen to them

Vladiato | 6/17/2007, 9:14 pm EST

That was another thing.

Galactus was enormous, and gave the Surfer his power in the first place. There was a variety of things wrong with that area of the plot.

As a matter of fact, there wasn’t much of a plot to ruin.

Seriously Marvel, stop making sequels to movies that shouldn’t/can’t sustain one.

Don’t even get me started on Elektra. Omfg. That movie was about as bearable as sea salt to the eyes.

sammy | 6/17/2007, 8:10 pm EST

This is the worst movie I ever saw a total waist of my time. The acting is worse then any movie the whole movie is a joke that you don’t give a crap what happens to the characters.Jessica Alba really sucks at acting and LightsOut56 please tell me when you turn 10 and puberty kicks in then you go see peter pan!.

Victor Von Doom | 6/17/2007, 5:06 pm EST

You know what’s really boring “LightsOut56″? You.

Chris | 6/17/2007, 3:50 pm EST

The first one wasn’t even that great…why the hell would they make a sequel…oh wait, because idiots buy into the hype and the toys and the color-changable cups at Burger King. This movie will make its quick 150-200 mil and then instantly disappear from your memory just in time for Harry Potter 7 or X-Men 4:Presented by Verizon.

Nonesdestiny | 6/16/2007, 5:40 pm EST

First off this movie was lame. Being a comic book fan it really disapointed me. I mean Galactus is NOT a cosmic cloud. The Silver Sufer DOES NOT get his power from his board. Silver Sufer is not that powerful that he could distroy Galactus. I mean Galactis is part of the reason why the Silver Surfer is powerful. I hate how this movie has product placements in it. Everywhere there was logos and crap. I mean Slurpee,E news,Dodge, ect. To make up for this they tried to make it “funny” by using having the Human Torch suggest wearing product logos on their uniforms. Jessica Alba is a pathetic actress and I hate that they made the invisable woman a freaking cry baby bitch. The least I can say is that they didn’t ruin the silver surfers look and they did do a great job when they casted Victer Von Doom. All in all, If your not a comic fan then it’s a good movie but if your an avid fan of comics this is a utter disapointment. I’m not sure whats worse Spiderman 3, X-Men 3, or this movie!

Anthony PIttarelli | 6/16/2007, 4:21 pm EST

unbeleivable! this goes agaisnt everything ive come to expect from comic book movies!

Vladiato | 6/15/2007, 8:21 pm EST

Peter Travers has always given a reason for his judgement on movies, and this is a prime example. He hits the nail on the head.

Particularily the part where he said that this movie can turn great actors into rank amateurs. Both this movie and it’s prequel were almost unbearable to sit through. Since I thought the sequel would have been better than it’s first, I figured I give it a shot. How wrong I was.

The only two movies I could think were worse than this are Daredevil and UltraViolet. You could give me a choice between watching those two movies again or falling onto broken glass face first, and I would chose the latter in a heartbeat.

Steve'o | 6/15/2007, 7:34 pm EST

Fantastic 4 wasn’t good!? Really!?! What an absolute shocker!!

LightsOut56 | 6/15/2007, 3:48 pm EST

I saw the movie today. You are an Idiot. Jerkwads like you shouldn’t even review movies like this. Go review the truly boring little independent movies. THIS movie is NOT boring. It has plenty of action. It is meant to be an escape for people and to be entertaining. Isn’t that the point of going to a movie? Entertainment? If you really thought going to a movie like this was supposed to be meaningful or realistic, then you don’t understand what the word “Fiction” really means. People are getting way too snobbish about movies these days. I think people are afraid to admit they like this type of movie for fear they will seem lees intelligent to their snobbish so-called intellectual peers. It shows that people can’t be comfortable with who they really are and have major inferiority complexes. SHUT UP and just enjoy the ride. STOP analyzing everything. Learn to enjoy life. Get over yourself!

I love it when horrible movies are slammed.

dreary louse | 6/15/2007, 1:10 pm EST

Tim Story is a hack.

yourgreeknews | 6/15/2007, 11:24 am EST

It is a shame to have Chiklis covered in so much latex is a shame… check out Chiklis chatting about Fantastic Four 2 as well as some exclusive clips from the movie at www.yourgreeknews.com

Brian | 6/15/2007, 10:37 am EST

Markus, do you really think Peter Travers never has seen the Thing or the Silver Surfer before? I mean, really. I think the point on Chiklis is he’s better served being in a movie where he’s not in a brick costume. He’s a very solid actor, but it’s tough to see that when he’s covered in a costume. That, I believe, is his point. Also, the Silver Surfer does look like a surfing trophy. Sorry.

Marc Cutillo | 6/15/2007, 8:27 am EST

Wow, but please Petey, tell us how you really feel about the movie

Markus | 6/15/2007, 3:54 am EST

I’m sure the movie’s bad - I’ve heard enough early reviews to get that impression pretty clearly. But what bugs me is that Peter Travers obviously has no prior knowledge of the FF comic. I mean, for one, he criticizes the moviemakers for putting Michael Chiklis behind “a brick wall.” Has Travers ever seen the comic book? That’s what the Thing looks like. What do you want them to do? Then he sardonically jibes the silver surfer design for looking like “the coolest surfing trophy ever.” Again, check the comic - that’s what the character looks like. (You’d think, working for RS, he would have at least come across Satriani’s “Surfing With the Alien” album cover or something.) Anyway, the movie may be crap, but it’s still not fair to bash the filmmakers for trying to be faithful to the comic.

Zachra | 6/15/2007, 1:26 am EST

I love that man and his moustache.

My go-to film critic for sure.

ray | 6/14/2007, 9:28 pm EST

Silver Surfers my favorite superhero, im disapointed in Stan Lee. I liked the first FF movie but this one seems to be worse from the previews and reviews. Silver Surfer deserves better,

Trey | 6/14/2007, 7:15 pm EST

Haven’t seen it, don’t plan on it. However, I did, and still do, think it will be better than the last one (which was abominable) because of the Surfer. And Galactus COULD make a fantastic comic book character on screen. Of course you’d need a Singer or Aronofsky to pull it off. I’ll TiVo it in six months.

I really thought this was great, you definately get a real feel for the movie actually seeing and hearing him. You guys should think about doing more reviews like this.

T-Nasty | 6/14/2007, 4:09 pm EST

I’m offended that RS gave this movie 1 star. It should have been 0 stars or 1/5 a star. Comic book movies are like Pixar movies, a dime a dozen. The general public really doesn’t read comic books so Hollywood needs decent gimics to sell them. Sin City had to be rated R and be for adults for anybody to want to watch it.

Giant Wang | 6/14/2007, 4:00 pm EST

I thought Petey T died years ago.

Armie | 6/14/2007, 3:56 pm EST

Well said. I hate when movies try to be all things to all people and as was evident in the first movie, they wanted a dumbed down pg-13 popcorn movie with no respect for plot, story or the canon from which the source material was used. No offesnse to the hard working people who made this movie, but you all should have learned a lesson from teh first one.
