
- Timbaland was busted by German cops over the weekend after a fight allegedly broke out between the legendary producer and a bar patron. The fracas took place in Cologne, Germany, where, after a Justin Timberlake concert, Timbaland and his posse allegedly attacked a man, Robert F, who called Timba the N word after he found the producer talking to his girlfriend. Timbaland went to jail; Robert F went to the hospital. The producer was released early Monday morning on bail.
- Items belonging to Lou Pearlman, the mastermind behind the late ’90s onslaught of boy bands, will be auctioned off today in Florida in an attempt to earn back money lost by more than 1,000 investors and a dozen or so banks when Pearlman disappeared in January. Who wants a photo of Lou Pearlman and Britney Spears?
- Rage Against the Machine will perform on August 24th at the Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin. Queens of the Stone Age will open.
- Prince is back on Columbia Records. The label-hopping artist will put out his next album Planet Earth, on Columbia on July 24.
- Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos was honored last week when his lyrics were the subject of a lecture at a Berlin university. “In one of the main universities in Berlin yesterday, they had a lecture about my lyrics, which is funny,” the singer said. “It was called ‘The Depressive Dandy – the Lyrics of Eddie Argos.’ In Germany, they think I’m an intellectual, which is ridiculous.”
