Spice Girls Reunion Almost Definite, Grinderman To Open For The Stripes, And More

According to Victoria Beckham, a Spice Girls reunion is very likely. “We’ll see what turns out, but between you and me, I’m really hopeful that it definitely will happen.” Sounds like an almost yes to us. The rumor is that the Spice Girls will play six huge gigs in various major cities around the world at the end of 2007, before releasing a greatest-hits compilation album.
It’s been fifteen years since The B-52s put out an album, but they’re almost done with their next one. The entire band returned to Athens, Georgia to finish the as-of-yet untitled record. “There’s more electronica on it,” singer Fred Schneider said of the new album. “It’s up-tempo and a bit sexed-up. It’s sexier than ever.”
Nick Cave’s super awesome new band, Grinderman, will open for the White Stripes on a handful of the band’s upcoming U.S. dates, including their Madison Square Garden show on July 24th.
Akon’s attorney has denied that his client was involved in any prosecutable wrong doing when he violently tossed a fan into the crowd at KFEST.
LCD Soundsystem have announced a bunch of summer dates including a stop at Lollapalooza on August 3rd.
Bright Eyes will play a special gig at the Hollywood Bowl on September 29th with the L.A. Philharmonic.
