Ask A Rock Star: What’s Going to Happen on The Sopranos Series Finale?

6/4/07, 6:32 pm EST

Mike D

  • Adam Levine of Maroon 5: “Doesn’t there need to be some big apocalyptic something? With that show, everything’s been this slow crawl towards the demise of the family. So someone’s going to die, and it’s probably going to be Tony. If that TV show knows what it’s doing, it will have one of the main characters betray him. Maybe his wife. That would be pretty massive. I’d better start talking to them about this…”
  • Mike D of the Beastie Boys: “Both the Adams from my band watch it, but I don’t. I was too late on the whole thing. I see a couple of guys from the show in the neighborhood with their kids, so I’ve lost my whole impression of them as bad guys.”
  • Denis Leary [Honorary Rock Star]: “It’s my favorite show of all time. It created the golden age of TV drama as we know it. If I was writing the show I’d want Carmella to shoot Tony – or not shoot Tony but have been involved in his demise or his survival at gunpoint. There’s no where else to go with that relationship.”

I don’t think any of these songs make an All Time List of anything…I can think of many more romantic songs to dance with that isn’t even our own. Cheers*

If Sopranos had ended in a blood bath, everyone would have whined that Chase pandered to the blood lusts of the masses. If it ended with Tony waking up in bed next to Suzanne Pleshette, dorks who think the brilliant Denis Leary is imitative would have had their Chewbacca Underoos in a bunch. Cheers to Chase for keeping us on the edge til the final moment.

the finale was wack

I think it will end with them in a diner and you think something bad is going to occur and then there is a black out. This show is so predictable.

Rich | 6/10/2007, 1:21 pm EST

Hopefully, Zack and the Gimp will have something to do with Tony’s decline and fall.

Paulie is in with NY and betrays Tony. I think Tony will die. Meadow may get it also for her involvement with Patsie’s son.
The greatest show ever. Period.

Greil Marcus | 6/8/2007, 5:41 pm EST

Tony Soprano’s eyes reveal everything his words conceal. The end.

Fortune | 6/8/2007, 3:45 pm EST

Facts:

1. Paulie is in with NY. He will die at Tony’s hand or another NJ guy.

2. Meadow will die when NY goes after Patsy.

3. Tony will kill Phil with his Assault Rifle and rule all of NJ and NY.

Case Closed

Tony foils Carmella’s attempt on his life; instead, he “wacks” her . . . maintains his keen edge coolness . . . and rides into the sunset like the hero should :)

Yep, Denis. Honorary Rock Star? How about World Class Thief. Did you even thank Bill Hicks for all the material you swiped from him?

Comic Book Guy | 6/5/2007, 2:39 pm EST

Hey Dennis Leary, Bill Hicks wants his routine back! You know, the only part of your routine that is funny.

And they have too much ends to tie up in the series. Its gonna be disappointing. Maybe someone will shoot AJ for crying too much. Or Phil will get crushed by a giant canole.

Bring on Brotherhood and Weeds.

Nikkidoo | 6/5/2007, 1:02 pm EST

The Sopranos is super duper.

This show is, at times, better than The Simpsons. Actually, now that I am an adult, it IS better than The Simpsons. I agree with Dennis Leary–Cause I’m an asshole!!!

When tony gets to the top of the tower he is thrust back out into the desert, only to begin his quest again. THE TOWER SHOWS NO MERCY…..muuuhahahaha.

The man in black fled accross the desert, and tony soprano followed.

Stuporfly | 6/5/2007, 9:41 am EST

Why use a picture of Dustin Diamond from the second season of Saved By the Bell for this?

Bjork | 6/5/2007, 8:55 am EST

What is going on with Mike D’s outfit? It looks like he got a bad dye job and is being eaten by Andy Dick. I enjoyed the Beastie’s work but if they want my respect in the future they will need to earn it by actually putting some work into their album and having a tour that does not avoid fly-over land. If they want to ride into the sunset that’s fine but don’t expect your fans to follow.

tony | 6/5/2007, 8:27 am EST

i like that soprannos where tony is makin a spicy meatball and burns is hand, classic

Scooby Doo | 6/5/2007, 1:13 am EST

dude are you referring to yourself in the third person; wow that’s savvy and narcissistic. awesome!

Pharphanugen | 6/5/2007, 12:07 am EST

Pharphanugen doesn’t have time to watch “The Sopranos” even though he’s seen a few episodes and found it to be quality entertainment. He’d rather watch David Lynch’s show “Twin Peaks.”

Martin | 6/4/2007, 11:28 pm EST

Easy. In the dying moments of the final episode, Tony Soprano wakes up next to his pool full of ducks (from Season One - Episode one) and discovers it was all a dream !

Lip | 6/4/2007, 9:55 pm EST

Girl you know it’s true.

Mike D is in love with you.

Much like the D man I myself haven’t seen a single episode of the Sopranos. I’d have to start from the beginning, but it looks pretty good.
