ROSIE | 5/31/2007, 5:41 pm EST

MICHAEL; WE’LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, WITH OR WITHOUT PRINCE.

ROSIE | 5/31/2007, 5:43 pm EST

MR.BEAN, WERE YOU MICHAEL’S CONDOM, OR HOW DO YOU KNOW?

boo boo | 5/31/2007, 6:26 pm EST

I think Mr. Bean had both Prince and Mikey in a circle jerk! :)

killyridols | 5/31/2007, 7:56 pm EST

Kenny Chesney, Bon Jovi?!?!?! They should have just let Unplugged die with a proud legacy. Instead they are going to get a bunch of has beens and never weres to agree to do the show. Way to go MTV, in an effort to try and show that you care about music again you are going to dig up and defile the only thing good you have done in a long long time.

pmasdot | 5/31/2007, 8:47 pm EST

cmon, Bon Jovi is the band that inspired MTV to start unplugged, they deserve to at least have one, who cares who does it? its a great showcase for artists to show what they sound like raw

Ya, Bon Jovi are has beens, their newest album Have A Nice Day only debuted at number 1 on the billboard charts. That sure sounds like a has been to me.

They also deserve to be able to have their own unplugged. They did help inspire it. After all, if it wasnt for their performance of Prayer and Dead or Alive live on MTV, it might not have ever happened.

Oh ya, and did i mention Bon Jovi has sold over 100 million albums, ya they sound like never weres to me also. Moron

Nikkidoo | 6/1/2007, 9:20 am EST

Marilyn Manson and Lindsay Lohan should have a love child.

killyridols | 6/1/2007, 10:14 am EST

I’m sorry that you use record sales as a metric for artistic wortiness. And, as far as never weres, I was refering to Kenney Cheseny. And, yes Bon Jovi are has beens, when you appear on American Idol, you are a has been. So yes, I think that Gwen Stefani is also a has been. She is a great marketing tool though, and so is Bon Jovi. So when you talk about music as a product, then yeah Bon Jovi moves a lot of units at Wal Mart, and Target, and wherever else the masses go to buy the latest version of Now That’s What I Call Music. He may have put the idea in the head of the powers that be at MTV to do an unplugged show, but the talent that was booked to the show after that was far better and more important than anything that Bon Jovi or Kenney Chesney could bring to the party. I just think that with the wealth of true talent that has been on that show, why soil it’s legacy with new country garbage, and washed up old hair bands. And yes, despite the alarming record sales numbers for Bon Jovi, they are simply a washed up old hair band. And, as far as record sales, the best selling rock bands from last year were Daughtry, and Nickleback. And, if you think that makes them valid and important artists then more power to ya. I would just like to see bands of worthiness booked to the show. Maybe Wilco, or Radiohead, or Modest Mouse, or Dinosaur Jr., Stephen Malkmus, or Trey Anastasio. But, yeah I guess as far as MTV goes why not have Bon Jovi and, Kenney Chesney come on, then all the 30 and 40 something house wives out there living in sexless marriages will get all worked up by how “sensitive” Jon and Kenney are and run, not walk down to the local mega store and buy the CD, and then later the DVD with exclusive never before seen footage.

No doubt Prince should snub Jacko, in the 80s Prince was always second fiddle to Jackson, despite his superior musical talents, how wrong we were.

y | 6/1/2007, 2:42 pm EST

Regardless of what your feelings are on Bon Jovi, you have to accept that they have millions of fans around the world. Your music tastes are your own, you shouldn’t make fun of Kenny Chesney or Bon Jovi fans just because you don’t like their music. It’s so hard that everyone preaches open-mindedness yet so many are stubborn and small-minded in such small matters as music taste. I don’t like Modest Mouse but I will not generalize or make fun of their fans because I don’t like the music of Modest Mouse.

killyridols | 6/1/2007, 3:51 pm EST

Did I ever say a word about open mindedness? I don’t think so, so go bark up another tree. I never claimed to be open minded, belive me I’ve been called an indie rock snob many a times both to my face and over the inner nets. I don’t start whining about, yr. tastes are yr. own and you can’t call me a rock snob, and all this crap. We are on a public forum about music, one of the things that is known to get people all worked up about their fav artists. If you are going to take offense to something someone on this site sez about yr. taste in music, then you need a thicker skin.

PRINCE SUCKS!! MJ RULES!!

Mandy | 3/13/2009, 6:54 pm EST

Theyre both brilliant. Saw Prince twice in concert and he ROCKED! gorgeous man, gona see Jackson at the o2, also bought tickets for two nights… the o2 arena will always be Prince’s house but we’re talking Michael Jackson here! Prince is a musical genius acquiring a niche fanbase, michael jackson a worldwide phenomenon, two different styles of “man” u cant compare the two theyre totally different! both respectable artists!

True musicians and artists never snub eachother. These are two man that respect the craft and the code…that is out of character for either of them…and lets not forget, the story is ‘we imagine’ therefore not being factual……lets use common sense here

Mimi | 7/29/2009, 3:32 am EST

Prince was smart to snub Michael Jackson. I’m sorry and RIP MJ but let’s get real. MJ stopped singing live at his shows in the early 90s, while Prince just played the Montieu Jazz Festival and 21 shows at the 02 Arena. Prince has been respectful to his craft and gifts and obviously, Jacko was not (again RIP).

Jacko was most concerned with being number 1 and being labeled a “king” while Prince played music for the love of music.

dore | 8/10/2009, 12:24 am EST

mrbean & rest of haters,
True musicians and artists never snub each other. prince lost his chance when he declined the HONOR to tour with King MJ. I have never wasted my money on prince “music”, and never will.
To MJ admirers: pls. go to site ETERNAL MOONWALK AND UPLOAD YOUR TRIBUTE VIDEO TO KING OF POP.

NOTHING COMPARES TO MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON.

ocean57 | 8/21/2009, 3:23 am EST

MJ is WorldWide, Prince is US only !!!!!! Bottomline Trillions admired and supported MJ, Prince was admired and supported by Thousands…….now that’s a HUGE difference

Eu amava e continuo amando MICHAEL JACKSON.
