Steven Tyler Leaving Aerosmith? Police Kick Off Reunion Tour, And More

Is Steven Tyler leaving Aerosmith? That’s what his daughter Liv has reportedly been telling people. A source told the New York Post that Liv says “her dad is going to announce he’s leaving Aerosmith soon because he can’t take how the rest of the band is treating him. She said they don’t appreciate him.” No!
CBS has put together a piece on this little-known indie rock band called Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. These young men put out albums by themselves! Without the help of record labels! The world certainly is changing.

After five weeks of hearing all about the personal lives/predilections of Phil Spector and the woman he’s been accused of murdering, Lana Clarkson, the jury will now be hearing about the forensic evidence including blood spatter, fibers, gunshot residue, DNA and the path a bullet took when it killed the actress.
The man behind the business that is the Rolling Stones has reportedly quit. Prince Rupert zu Loewenstein, who the Stones hired to sort their financial affairs in 1971 after they split with former manager Allen Klein, is no longer doing so. A statement released by the band’s UK PR firm said: “Prince Loewenstein is no longer taking care of the Rolling Stones day-to-day business but is currently retained on some aspects of their career.”
Apple is (finally) prepared to launch its DRM-free catalog of music from EMI this week, reports claim. The apparent delay has to do with a desire to offer the entire catalog at once as opposed to rolling it out bit by bit, which takes some time to encode and host.

All of Aerosmith should leave the band. Don’t get me wrong they were a great band but they are way past their prime. Plus there is nothing rock and roll about a bunch of 60 year olds flopping around onstage.

It doesn’t make any sense.

CBS always knows what going down in the world of indie rock. Remember when Dan Rather got punched by the ‘What’s the frequency Kenneth?’ guy? And when Dinosaur Jr. had that cheesy sitcom?

I think the more accurate way to put it would be that Tyler’s not leaving Aerosmith, but that Aerosmith is finished, since without him, they lose their entire identity as a band.

Tyler’s not going anywhere, think about it. Just what we need is another David Lee Roth thinking he can make it on his own or that Aerosmith can do it without him either. They already tried that once and we saw how that worked out.

Maybe another intervention is what they need? Kidding! Rock on!

Tyler’s leaving Aerosmith would be a bad call. If it’s supposed to hasten the departure of the band, that’s one thing. They are all but dead on their feet. If it’s for a solo album, just remember how Jagger’s been doing lately when it comes to this stuff.
