- Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel apparently performed in a pair of reunion concerts Wednesday along with Simon’s collaborators from Graceland, including the Zulu choir Ladysmith Black Mambazo. “I haven’t performed with them for a few years, but they’re my brothers from South Africa,” Simon said before welcoming the group to the stage at Washington D.C.’s Warner Theatre.
- In other reunion news, Jack Bruce says he, Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker have agreed to play together as Cream sometime later this year. He wouldn’t say when nor would he hint at how many shows they might be doing.
- Give a listen to the first track from Poison’s forthcoming classic rock covers album — it’s Poison’s version of Tom Petty’s “I Need to Know.”
- American Idol may consistently trounce the shows it’s up against in the ratings war but overall the show is slipping. American Idol’s bloated sixth finale pulled 30.7 million viewers, a nearly 16 percent drop from last year’s finale, when a series-high 36.4 million viewers tuned in to watch Taylor Hicks win.
- 50 Cent claims that Eminem is working on new material. “I’ve heard a few songs, and it’s hot,” the rapper, and good friend to Em says. “He won’t tell nobody he’s working on a new album, but I’ll tell you: he’s working on new music.”
- Young Jeezy was apparently arrested at Stroker’s nightclub in Atlanta at 3:31 a.m. this morning after being charged with disorderly conduct. Jeezy has since posted bail and been released.
