New York dance-rockers the Bravery drop their new album The Sun and Moon tomorrow. We caught up with them backstage before their performace at an exclusive Rolling Stone party last week at the Hard Rock Cafe. Check out what they had to say about the new record, and watch a snippet of their new single “Time Won’t Let Me Go.”

I think I wasted about $12 on their first album. I remember thinking something like, “Hmmm…An Honest Mistake is pretty decent. Perhaps these guys make other decent songs.” How foolish of me.
There is no talent in this band…only one fluke hit single. I hope they systematically defenestrate themselves and die of blood loss.

Right.. so.. all the Bravery do is latch onto whatever is popular and copy it. Their last record was all about that new-wave/disco revitalization that was popular. Now they’re just copying the ever-growing popularity of dance rock.

I have to be honest, when I first heard The Bravery back in 2005 and their first single, I thought it was somewhat catchy but nothing groundbreaking. Then I heard the entire album and thought the rest of songs weren’t as good as single. But I just listened through the entire new album (which you can do on their myspace page)and I thought it was decent. Yes, they don’t encapsulate any original sound nor are they re-inventing the wheel, but they are doing what a lot of other newer bands out there are doing, and that’s at least making catchy/poppy songs that are fun to listen to. I am sick of music snobs chomping at the bit to berate every new (or somewhat new) band that comes out who hasn’t revolutionized music. It’s not as easy at it seems!

you music snobs, those who criticize music that is “unoriginal”, emo, and basically anything that isn’t obscure and not popular, go die. I swear to f-ing god. go die. or at least you try to make any good music. the bravery are one of the better bands out there. i would rather listen to them than nickleback and “hey there delilah” any day. music snobs, you have no idea what you are talking about.
