Not to get all grim and apocalyptic on this sparkly spring day, but the world is ending tomorrow. You have exactly one evening left on earth. What do you do to fill the next (and final) hours of your life, and what song do you cue up for those last 3.5 (or whatever) minutes of existence? (We’re going with “Where Is My Mind”).

If it were today, my pick would be, “All I Need” by Radiohead
I would just want to be laying with somebody I loved. This song really speaks to that need for human connection. We’ve really messed up this world. It would be nice at the end to feel loved unconditionally, and uplifted by the end to our suffering, with the hopes for a new start.

I would pick “(I can’t get no) Satisfaction”, because the world will be ending and I’ll never get any satisfaction when I’m dead.

I want to go out smiling. Life is such an uphill climb that at the end you might as well grab a sled and go on one last joyous ride. Mine would be Lou Reed’s “Street Hassle”. Dark, but there’s so much beauty. Sha la la la la.
JM | 5/9/2007, 5:59 pm EST
Tom Waits - “Everything Goes to Hell”

atom heart mother suite by pink floyd.
i know that it’s like 20 minutes long, but seriously, if there is any music that is end of the world music, it’s atom heart mother.
Matt | 5/9/2007, 1:15 pm EST
I’m gonna extend that 3.5 minutes to 17.5 minutes and go with “Sister Ray”
Kyle | 5/9/2007, 12:52 pm EST
What, you mean nobody’s going to play “Tell Me When to Go” by E-40?!!
But seriously, that’ s a tough question that I’ve thought about numerous times….what would be the song I basically die to? (Unless I miraculously sprout wings and fly away from this hell hole)
I’ll go with:
1. “Blood on the Motorway”- DJ Shadow
2. “Harrowdown Hill” by Thom Yorke
3. “Dayvan Cowboy”- Boards of Canada
4. A toss up between “Punch up at a Wedding” or “Life in a Glass House”- Radiohead
5. A little “Satisfaction” by Benny Benassi…Who cares about going out with bang, Let’s go out with a rave!
