Linkin Park Announce Summer Tour With My Chemical Romance

5/7/07, 5:56 pm EST

Linkin Park

Following their appearance at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey this weekend, Linkin Park stopped by New York’s Museum of Television and Radio to announce the details of their fourth Projekt Revolution tour, which kicks off on July 25th and hits twenty-nine amphitheaters before wrapping on September 3rd in Englewood, Colorado. The band will be joined on the main stage by fellow Bamboozlers My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday, as well as HIM, Placebo and Julien-K. “If you took Linkin Park off this bill it would still be the best bill of the summer,” says singer Chester Bennington. “Saying yes to this tour was a no-brainer,” My Chem’s Gerard Way adds. “Linkin Park has a vision, just like our band and Taking Back Sunday.” An eco-friendly outing, Projekt Revolution will include side stage performances by Saosin, The Bled and Mindless Self-Indulgence, among others.

I dont understand whh some of you are acting like 5 year olds. Just because you don’t like a certain band does not mean you should bash it. “OMG, someone likes a band that I hate. whatever must I do?? I am going to try make myself feel cool and important by bashing their band. Go me!”

Seriously guys, grow up.

I like Linkin Park although they’d changed their image from nu-metal to mellowed.Anyway, i’m not a fan of MCR, but i still give them thumbs up though.

dynomight! | 9/10/2007, 3:29 am EST

PLACEBO? why oh why?

Paris | 7/2/2007, 3:19 pm EST

This is like the biggest tour ever. As long as Linkin Park and MCR is on it then it will be awesome.

Zoe Chemical Lvigne | 6/15/2007, 3:47 am EST

Sweetr | 5/15/2007, 10:58 am EST

Why don´t you ppl mind on your own bussiness? If u don´t like mcr or any of the bands don´t waste your time posting comments on this. I live in a shitty country and I would pay a lot of money to see a show like this one, and I am not 14 years old, I have ten years more that that! This show will surely be awesome!

jennii | 5/14/2007, 5:45 pm EST

MCR, TBS, Linkin Park && HIM?
sounds amazing!
great line-up.
i’ll be there for sure.
after i saw MCR in march
i thought it’d be along time
before i got the chance
to see them again.
im soo pumped to see them again.
best band ever.
and i’ve wanted to see
TBS for a long time now.
linkin park and HIM are awesome too.
this is soo exciting.

STAINDPEARLYGIRL | 5/13/2007, 3:18 pm EST

I saw Linkin Park in 2001 and it was before they really got big. We have 2 stages at our annual X-Fest and they were playing the smaller one and abolutely rocked out to the fullest. MCR and some of the other bands really do not appeal to me, but I would mos def go for LP alone, and YES they are great LIVE!

Anonymous | 5/12/2007, 7:49 am EST

Linkin park is NOT emo!!!

adam | 5/8/2007, 7:26 pm EST

thinks a damn shame a band like him has to open for linkin park. him has 6 albums in the past deacade and more talent then the all the bands on this bill. linkin park a soory band that should have stayed broken up. the rap over guitars thing been dead for a couple of years now

Jr | 5/8/2007, 5:46 pm EST

I think this will be a great tour. If they coem by where I live I am SOOOOO oign to see it HIM,takign backsunday,MCR,and linkin park all together great idea

SATAN | 5/8/2007, 11:28 am EST

I love emo!

Cafe Wha? | 5/8/2007, 11:13 am EST

Yeah Lincoln park is so awesome live…seeing that dude push that button on his computer rocks! I’ve always thought my chemical romance was a cool name for a band. Too bad the actual band is so shitty. Seriously, who would go see this crap?

abandonedstation | 5/8/2007, 10:09 am EST

these bands are doing us all a favor by touring together. by scheduling to have the various tiers of crap be in one location at one time, we can ensure that each city suffers for only that one night through the summer.

Fredonia | 5/8/2007, 9:37 am EST

i went to the there tour 2 years ago with the used and korn…it was sooo great…if your thinking about going you should its alot of fun :)

Deez Nuttzz | 5/8/2007, 9:26 am EST

“Gerard is a good singer live, sounds pretty close to the record. ” It’s called backing tapes, i.e. pre-recorded vocals piped in through the PA to support the lead singers vocals.

Gabe | 5/8/2007, 4:00 am EST

Why is Placebo playing with these bands? They’re way too good, and they don’t really sound like the rest of them.

Amanda | 5/8/2007, 2:24 am EST

MCR cock rock

JEFF | 5/8/2007, 1:30 am EST

Linkin Park is a great live band. My Chemical Romance is one of the worst bands in the history of rock music and they are an absolute disgrace to music in general. Taking Back Sunday is almost as bad. HIM is pretty cool though.

oh man | 5/7/2007, 11:21 pm EST

Placebo is really slumming for this one, it is sad really

him is c*ck rock dressed up in hot topic gear, oh wait i guess that is mcr too

i can tell | 5/7/2007, 11:14 pm EST

Saosin kicks ass. MCR and TBS are pretty good too. Those bands would be the only ones that I would want to see.

RockGod | 5/7/2007, 10:58 pm EST

All these bands are emo/rap metal crap, this is a sad evolution of what has become…. I saw a live concert clip a few weeks back on youtube, it actually showed Chester and company doing a short rendition of Sweet Child’O Mine followed by a smart ass comment regarding GnR not showing up at the festival… These guys need to seriously “BOW DOWN” to Guns N Roses, Linkin Park is so 2001 its not funny, these rap-metal emo guys need to take a cue from Fred Durst and just let the past stay in the past, and the other bands on the bill are poser bands as well.

dan | 5/7/2007, 10:50 pm EST

hide the knives, guns, and ropes. every original fan of linkin park is now looking to kill themselves. i had put them on probation after hearing their single, but now, they are dead to me.

mike | 5/7/2007, 10:48 pm EST

i saw mcr when they opened for green day in albany and they were pathetic. the worst live band ive ever seen, and ive seen alot

Bangers-N-Mash | 5/7/2007, 10:05 pm EST

Oh goodness…

parents: close yer 14 yr old daughter’s bank account.. she might run it dry after knowing when these tickets go on sale

nora | 5/7/2007, 10:03 pm EST

I want to say something and I really hope someone agrees with me. My friends and I were at the Bamboozle show on Sunday and saw Taking Back Sunday, Weird Al and Linkin Park. WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO PUSH? Can’t you just enjoy the music? Whether it’s the age issue or I don’t know what else, but my friends got thrown on the floor and stepped on, now one of them is in a CAST! Can we just enjoy the music without putting our arm pits into people’s faces? And also, I am under 5 feet tall, HAVE SOME RESPECT for those who can’t see! WOW!!!!!

Dude | 5/7/2007, 10:02 pm EST

MCR are really good live, actually. Saw them open for Green Day in Quebec City. Gerard is a good singer live, sounds pretty close to the record. They definitly like being onstage.

Al | 5/7/2007, 9:17 pm EST

I just saw taking back sunday on saturday in Memphis and they put on one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen. I feel bad for the guys in the band because he had obviously lost his voice and was terrible live. I was hoping to see a good show because I have a couple of their cd’s and had heard they were good live…but was terribly let down. I have heard MCR is good live, but I can’t imagine how.

Shemp | 5/7/2007, 8:16 pm EST

It’s nice to see that Linkin Park has evolved from a third-wave rap metal act into a third-wave emo act. Now that’s career development!

someone | 5/7/2007, 7:50 pm EST

that’ll be cool

Blackwood | 5/7/2007, 7:49 pm EST

My chemical romance + HIM on the same stage??

a wet dream come true!

x)
