50 Cent

  • 50 Cent was all over this weekend’s Mayweather/De La Hoya fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Here he is chatting with Mayweather during the post-fight news conference after it was decided that Mayweather defeated De La Hoya.
  • It might be easier to list those artists who are NOT going to be a part of the new Josh Homme, Ian Astbury, Massive Attack’s 3D, Autolux, Nada Surf’s Matthew Caws, Jeordie White, and the Duke Spirit are among those who will be contributing to War Stories, which comes out July 24th.
  • The Police will descend upon Vancouver this week, whereupon they will start rehearsing etc. for their reunion tour, Billboard reports. The tour ticks off May 28th. “It’s feeling really good,” guitarist Andy Summers said. “It should take a slightly different shape now because in a couple weeks the stage arrives and the lighting and everything and we have to kind of choreograph the show with that. We’ve all been playing for another 20 years, so I think we’re actually much better players than we were even in the Police in the early days.”
  • The new Cat PowerDylan, Hank Williams, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Kitty Wells, Duke Ellington, and Fairport Convention on her next album. A record composed entirely of new material will follow. [via Stereogum]
  • Kid Rock has a generous streak. After six sets of golf clubs were stolen from a Detroit-area girl’s high school golf team, Rock decided to purchase new custom golf clubs too replace the stolen ones.

you think rap is good today then you should put on some krs one.
He’s the king of rap when rap was at the top of its game and when rap had that underground cool.
Now it’s overplayed and everywhere like disco was in the 70’s.
Nas is one of the few rappers who could’ve hung out with titans like Krs One.
50 Cent is good but i like old school better.
It was all good then.

is 50 still famous? Man, it’s been a slow, steady dive since ‘In Da Club’.

Mothers lock up your daughters, that crazy UNKLE is back in town! (that’s one crazy Rolodex those guys must have)

Hide your stash, Vansterdam! The fuzz have arrived! Any money Stewart and Andy wanted to get back together years ago, but Sting was too busy having tantric sex.
And who’s surprised to hear that Andy thinks they sound better than they did twenty five years ago? Of course he’s gonna say that. What’s the alternative: ‘Well, I can’t play as fast as I used to, Sting’s voice is shot, and Stewart can only drum for an hour before getting tired…’

Cover Power! (I hope the Dylan song is ‘Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat’)

I wonder what the gals had to do (or got to do) for Kid Rock to get their hands on those clubs.
