Henry Rollins Invades Our Friday Nights

5/4/07, 2:00 pm EST

We have a thing for The Henry Rollins Show. The extremely well preserved, still outspoken rocker sits down week after week with a collection of interesting artists and performers. There’s something kind of sweet about Rollins as a journalist, earnestly taking his interviewees through the narratives of their lives, getting all fan-boyish with some, and reminiscing with others. Plus, he gets good people.

Tonight at 11 p.m. on IFC you can see Rollins interview Iggy Pop with musical guest Chris Cornell. For a sense of what you might see, here are a few of our favorite clips from the show. Check them out.

Werner Herzog discusses the time he was shot while giving an interview and tries to sell us on the idea that Los Angeles is the greatest American City.

Marilyn Manson discusses his retrospective disappointment and simultaneous appreciation for Bowling For Columbine and talks about the super personal tone of his new album.

Rollins geeks out over all those crazy things Ozzy did when he was fucked up. Ozzy marvels over the fact that American moms don’t realize he is a musician in addition to a TV star.

Ryan Adams performs “What Sin Replaces Love” off his new album.

I am a really big fan of this show and think that the interviews are so much more genuine than the Leno ones and everybody else. Henry is a really intense guy and smart and he just makes everything cool and interesting. Hard core entertainment!

manson has such a magnetic thing about him that i can/could never put my finger on, myself and my mother have both enjoyed his music. his paintings are beautiful and he’s lucky to have such talent. The fact he’s working on lewis caroll’s story is flipping amazing i’m such a fan of both their works, alice’s adventures in wonderland is my all time favorite story, and i can not wait to seethe twists and the photography and the way it’s filmed, i’m on the edge of my sit, i have goose bumps just thinking of the possiblities. i wrote a paper about him in college, well how he was in no way in fault for columbine, and my teacher told me that he had never read such powerful words outside of lyrics to a song.
