
- In a prerecorded statement on American Idol’s telethon last night, Bono made his usual series of sanctimonious-but-still-somehow-okay-cuz-it’s-Bono statements about what we all need to do to be better people. “People say you can’t be the generation that ends brutal, stupid poverty, but we can and we will,” Bono said. Then no one got booted. But lots of money was raised for the kids so that’s cool.
- Is it wrong to like Sanjaya a whole lot more now that we know his mom was some kind of stay at home drug dealer? Apparently the woman was arrested in 2005 for growing pot in her garage.
- The White Stripes will be touring the United States and Canada this summer, and will celebrate their 10th Anniversary together as a band. Awesome.
- This Princess Diana tribute concert is getting crazy. Kanye West and Rod Stewart have been added to the lineup of artists performing at the kinda creepy event on July 1st, which marks the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.
- What is it with foreign countries hating on Snoop Dogg. First the UK decided to ban Snoop from entry and now he’s being kept out of Australia after failing to pass some kind of character test! WTF?
- The Beastie Boys are releasing a new album in June, which they plan to call The Mix Up. According to Mike D the record will be a return to the band’s original sound. “We play instruments on the whole album, as opposed to sampling. There’s more rock on there,” he said. “It might make you flip your wig right off, or your hairpiece, if you’re a casual listener.”
